Best kill streak - Is it per team, or per round?

Hi,

I have been trying to get my Legion of Merit, which requires 10 Best Kill Streak rounds. I have 7, but getting those last 3 has been a major challenge. Is the best kill streak awarded one to each team per round, or is it only one globally for the best kill streak from both teams?

Any tips on getting it? I assume Commander can get it with arty strikes, that is how I got my last two Distinguished pins, but I was pretty surprised to see that it didn't translate into a best kill streak. Did the other commander do a bit better than I did with his orbital strikes? When I checked out everyone's stats, few players had more kills than I did and mine were all in a row since I had found a good hiding spot. I didn't remember to check the enemy commander's stats before the window closed.

i thought you only had to make 10 kills without dying in a round thats the way i got mine though, try to be effective with the gunship or anything if you manage to take out a squad of 5 members who are in a plane you only need to do it twice to get it.

If I remember correctly Commander kills do not count as a kill streak.

Kill Streak

The award is one per team at the end of the round for having the best kill streak. If your really stuck play titan and just stop on the guns.

On conquest, go on a 64 or 32 player server with 10 or so people. Play as commander, and help your team defend (don't hide). Use the commander screen, sat-track, and supply drop to your advantage. OR get into the walker on the Camp Gibraltar map. Play as support with the Infantry Scanner at all times, so you can see if anyone is sneaking around to get you.

On Titan, find a really populated server which allows the titans to move. Go as Engineer, get into the ground cannons and start defending silos from above, and when the Titans are close together, get into the AA guns for a bit. Doing this can get you kill streaks of up to 30+, with the notable exception of someone teamkilling so they get 'their turn'.

They definitely count. I just moved up a notch to 8 of 10 by playing only Commander last night. Unfortunately (well sort of), I had an excellent Walker pilot on my team, and I couldn't help resupplying him all the time (desire to win took over desire to get best kill streak). So even though we won 6 rounds in a row, I only got best kill streak once. But I still got it as Commander! 2 more to go for the Legion of Merit ribbon.....
