Hahaha! I actually think Suez is the best map in vanilla 2142, mainly because you have room to maneuver your tank without getting hung up on obstacles. Desert warfare should provide more of the same.

real world ranks means (i think at least) they will introduce PPH
PPH was in the console version of Battle Field 2
PPH is points per hour,
PPH was needed as well as medals to advance in the ranks ie. 250 PPh plus 2 medals would give 'X rank'
Its intended to separate the good players since you need an increasing PPH to rank up and tking etc would lower it.
it reduces smacktard-ness among the main community but promotes exploiters and cheats...

Oops, got you confused with 'Minmaster', he also has an Asian women in his avatar.Originally posted by XxSTAM1NAxXI wasn't? As far as I can remember I was always pro DICE and BF.
However, I am also against desert. Agreed... let them Arabian guys Jihad in good ol' Europe for a change.
It is more than likely BF3 will feature destructable objects and terrain as was advertised with that silly console thing so tank movement will be greatly flexible. Desert is just so.... bleeeeeeh.Originally posted by Dare978DevilHahaha! Well, it is supposed to be against NATO, after all. Doesn't that imply some maps set in Europe?I wasn't? As far as I can remember I was always pro DICE and BF.

IMO that would ruin the system. They should keep the old way, but tweak it a little.real world ranks means (i think at least) they will introduce PPHComment

Did anyone read the agreement that comes with vista? You, as the owner of software are no longer in charge of your own software. M$ft determines what is best for you to paraphrase it. YOU are no longer the adminstrator of your own software on your own computer. I hope I am wrong. I knew someone that worked at M$ft and this person told me don't bother to upgrade because it was still buggy. Most of the issues have been solved is probably true, but not all.Originally posted by -(UtC)- Iquere «Most Vista problems has been solved by Microsoft by now, game problems are generally caused by older games not designed for Vista. But I see your point here, BF2142 gives me mixed feelings cause I really love the gameplay and such but it's a buggy little piece of **** at the same time
Hope DICE/EA make something much stabler and with much less bugs.Comment

Think about it if you had destructible environments with in-game ads then you could just take a tank and blow the crap out of all those ****ty billboards.

Firstly, we must assume that this game will be based off a full scale war rather than a skirmish, which is pretty safe to assume. In a full scale war, both sides end up pushing into the other's territory.
Now let's assume that NATO is indeed the aggressor (I'm not trying to offend anyone or imply anything), and are attacking MEC territory, much like the PAC in 2142. In this case, most maps will place MEC as defender, in the manner of the EU in BF2142.
Of course, this would mean that most, if not all, maps will be set in MEC territory.
But remember, this is EA! So several months down the line, we have a booster pack with a similar theme to it as Northern Strike. MEC somehow go around NATO, and attack their territory. Maybe there would be a D-Day style map set in France, and another based off an attack on Norway. And hell, probably a second booster pack where the MEC attack the USA and Canada.
LOL. Though if they did put IGA in, billboards may be the only item of construction standing after one round.Think about it if you had destructible environments with in-game ads then you could just take a tank and blow the crap out of all those ****ty billboards.

I dont mind desert but it has to be diverse like someone said, unless the maps are very well designed
And the game will run on XP, if that release date of March is valid and true (which seems fishy because a company like EA would want to be creating hype over the game before release) then they arent about to deny a huge majority of the market from actually playing the game
I think it was perhaps more about using dx10 or vista features if applicableComment
