Red dot or ACOG?

So like the title says what is better to use? What are the inherent strengths and weaknesses of each attachment?

From watching the killcams it looks like the majority of players are using red dot or ironsights, its rare to find someone with an acog. Is there something wrong with it?

I prefer red dot, it seems more accurate especially on the MP5.

Red dot. Easier to use that the ACOG

Red dot, but on the snipers that are semi auto I will use the acog, gives the medium range fire-fights a chance.

Red dot gives you a wider field of view, About the only advantage to the ACOG is that you can zoom in for the long shots

If you look at the "stat bars" in the class creation screen, you will see the effect of the attachments.

• Silencer: decreases range
• Red Dot: No Effect
• ACOG: Increases range but decreases accuracy

I have no idea why they think the ACOG should decrease accuracy, that seems counter-intuitive

The G3 is the only weapon where I use ACOG, the rest are Red Dot or silencer.

i find the Acog benefits on some weapons but not others.

The acog... just doesn't work, it doesn't have a precision aiming reticule, just the orange V thing.

One of my kits has this setup:

M4 + ACOG scope + Red Tiger Camo for looks :p
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Steady Aim

I found that this weapon now turned into a small, medium and large range weapon because of the Steady Aim for quick shots from the hip and the ACOG zoon to snipe the snipers with a three shot burst. Also the M4 has almost no recoil so that the ACOG sway + recoil won't let my target escape from my sights.

ACOG takes absolute skill to use.

red dot unless i want to snipe with an assault rifle on maps like countdown.

I prefer red dot because it gives you more view, especially useful on weapons with painful ironsights.

I like looking through the scope on the Acog site but red dot is easier to get a quick and accurate hit So red dot is better.

Sniper rifles its ACOG

Long Range only its ACOG (except single shot rifles)

Everything else Red dot.

ACOG ads sway to all the weapons, red dot does not. Since sniper rifles already have sway, might as well get a dead on accurate scope.
