Can't hit anything with the Barrett

I do best with the R700, such that i do not need the lungs upgrade.

R700 with deep impact + stopping power is almost always a 1 hit, 1 kill. However, I often use overkill with the G36C silenced.

i thought with stopping power the bolts were a 1 hit kill apart from if you shot a player with juganought <--- spelling ???

I dont snipe that much only on bloc really or if i feel like it, so i may be mistaken

It is without Deep impact.

Does Deep Impact actually help when shooting people? I thoughtit was purely for walls and the like, but I could be mistaken.

Yea... the noise difference doesn't really matter.

Thats why I use the silenced M14, its the closest thing to being a silenced sniper rifle. :nod:

You must not play hardcore... there sound makes a huge difference, it's one of the main ways to find people. The Dragunov, for instance, only gives a small "crack" that can be hard to locate. A Barret leaves and earth shattering boom that let's half the map know where you are. Plus the SVD looks freakin epic.

R700 + SP to the Torso = kill
.50 cal + SP to the torso = Kill
M14 + Sp to the Head = kill

Well, those are damage multipliers, anything to the torso does 1.5x more damage, and isn't a true 1HK, its more of a bonus. In other games you will see the coding showing it as x amount of damage to leg and y amount to head, instead of x amounnt to the leg and 1.5x to the head.

I agree, they will kill in one shot, but the coding doesn't say that ^^

To be honest im actually finding the barret hits targets waaay more often than the r700. Dont know why but it just feels better :P

well i used to HATE the SVD but now i have it in gold im finding it just to be so much more sexy than before. Its actually not a bad gun in CQC either.

Now, I am not lieing when I say this, but I literally shot another sniper TWICE in the head, (since its the only body part I could see), with the M40. You would think 2 bullets to the head would stop almost anybody, but not this guy. He just stood there , found out where I was, and one shot, one killed me with the Barrett. Bullsh!t.

According to this table the sniper rifles do equal damage to the head. But the M40 and M21 has low damage modifiers for the chest. So the Barret is "stronger"
And headshots are a bit unreliable in this game.

About the original topic: I just stared messing around with the sniper rifles. First the m21 which I like with the ACOG, and then I decided to try the Barret because it can 1 shot kill to the chest.

At first I played on a 150 ping server and couldn't hit a thing, I was almost about to give up on the gun. But then I tried another server with ping>50, and suddenly it worked wonders.

Disclaimer: I don't use it at extreme range, but more like a marksman rifle where I can put a quick round through the chest. It may be less accurate for pinpoint accurate sniping, I wouldn't notice that.
