    Running BF2 without a CD

We only have one BF2 cd and we (my brother and I) both want to play each other (LAN) what's the easiest way to do this?

Best thing to do is purchase a second cd.

Unless you have unique cd-keys, you won't be able to play each other via LAN or Internet./

All I did was put in the cd, start the game, then take the cd out and gave it to my brother. We played each other for a long time, it's fun.

            Well, without doing anything illegal:

Use a program such as Alcohol and burn yourself an .iso, which you can either keep on your pc or burn and give to your brother. If you're just playing locally, CD key won't be a problem, but if you want to play online, I have an extra key if you want it :)

Anyways, once one of you has the .iso, get a program called Daemon Tools. This program will allow you to mount the .iso image, and play Battlefield 2 without a disc in the drive.

It's what I've done for my pc, so I don't have to keep putting BF2 in every time I want to play.

The thing I was worried about was if I download a ***** fix then punkbuster would ban me and that's not good.

That's only an issue with something that modifies/replaces the .exe . Using a virtual CD such as Daemon Tools to mount a .iso is not a problem. I haven't had my BF2 DVD in the drive since I got it (2.5 years ago) other than to install or re-install the game. However, I believe multiple people on a LAN with only one purchased BF2 is illegal even though it can be done.

Use Daemon-tools to mount the BF2 mini-image (1.5mb) and you'll never need to use the cd.
