Medic whoring on Karkand you say? I have a friend who is the biggest medic whore and a rediculously skilled i/o player. He has never broken the 400 mark in a karkand server with less than 40 people playing.

Why should I believe that you could do it the over 40 in a server?

I thoroughly believe that scores of 400+ are results of stat padding and would agree with the clan that based their decision on such a score.

I'm also taking into account the other players scores in the round. There are several players on the server with well over 200 points and many who are at least 100 or close. Points like that are not common on a 40+ man server.

If it was up to me to decide I would call BS on your entire story. I myself am a i/o whore. And have seen my share of skilled karkand players. In my 2 years of playing I have never seen a score accomplished on such a populated server......unless it was a knife and pistol server. Which my friend is exactly what I think you were playing in.

Only assumptions...but they are educated ones. I would love for you to prove me wrong.

Quite educated assumptions, I agree, unfortunately entirely incorrect.

I suggest you go and have a few rounds on it. I won't bother explaining right now, just go and take a look.

You can get insane scores in IO on a high point server

Yeah precisely, which is why I made this topic. People see a high score (like I originally posted) and think - "PADDER!!1". Yet scores of that size can easily be legitimate.

Nicfurious, I'll go into a bit more detail on the server itself, I've got a bit of time. Basically there are huge rounds - each team starts with 1000 points. There is unlimited sprint. There are 10-second respawn timers. There's a mod of some sorts which reduces all grenade and claymore damage, you more-or-less have to sit on a grenade for it to kill you. There are 64 players crammed into a 32 player map.

Combine all these with skill, you get a great score.

Who cares? Stats are a waste of time anyway. Play for the fun of it!

Thanks for the explanation Tsoraqk. I never knew a server can be ranked and include the options you are talking about.

AFAIK ranked servers can legally use those setting but who the hell cares anyway? Someone can get more points than me in another server. BUUUHUUU

The game's been out for so long now, I'm surprised anyone even cares about points anymore. Sure, it was unique when it came out, but now it's just boring, playing the same maps and modes over and over just to rank up points and pretend rank? Personally, I don't even play vBF2 anymore with the exception of an occasional armored fury round or maybe SF. Other than that, mods FTW!

But levelling up in an MMO means you get a more powerful character who can go to areas with better stuff/more quests/etc. Rank in BF2 means bugger all. 2142 is more MMO-ish because you need to gain ranks to earn unlocks, and you need to earn unlocks before you can get more equipment. BF2 only gets you guns, and with the exception of the G36E and G36C, they aren't even better guns than the defaults.

Im pretty sure there is some EA rule where you are not allowed to change server-side settings on a ranked server.

That's correct Sir Tasty. The settings mentioned above are not allowed on a ranked server; however, EA at this point really doesn't care about BF2 or stat padding so server operators are getting away with more and more.

Yeah, I think I said that a few posts back, may be wrong though.

Hmm i do recall playing on servers like this when bf2 came out, tickets would huge and rounds would go on for hours, great times. I dont see why they dont allow it as you are going to get the same points anyway, either if it is in one round or two.
