Where do you Draw the Line for Padding?

I was once applying for a clan. Looking at stats for my old account, he quoted a 400+ point score of mine along with "nice padding, noob".

I don't know about any other people here, but I think scores like that are very possible to reach using non-padding techniques.

Ok, it's a rare event. Also, the server more or less needs to have certain elements, such as FF Off, many players, Karkand. But I still think it's possible.

So where do you draw the line of padding, where points in a round are concerned? I guess it's important as it's one of the only ways, if not the only, that you can see a padder from statistics.

Agreed, but it can be very useful to know if someone's a padder. Again, you would want to know if a member of your clan padded, etc.

I wouldn't even bother joining a clan that obsesses over your stats. Stats are meaningless anyway.

Meh. EA have always allowed 24/7 Karkand servers, as far as I am aware. Now that, in general, would accumulate a lot more points than a random map cycle. So there have always been imbalances in the point-accumulation levels on different servers.

I wouldn't even bother joining a clan that obsesses over your stats.

Anything involving unnatural techniques, cooperating with someone on the other team, etc.

400 points is a bit extreme but i can see where he is coming from...

Generally you can tell by pistol and knife with the amount of time holding the weapon (not the amount of kills).

But in all honesty, stat padding is meaningless, competitive clans look for skill not stats, and public servers only get you so far, (generally people suck on them).

Any1 i see with over 400 points i would say padded for it, but i guess if your honest, there are going to be exceptions.

Nobody that's good cares about stats.

I have over 20 accounts, I could care less about getting points on my CynicDestroyer account. I have probably 10,000 points spread out across my other accounts.

Stats are meaningless, if they put so much emphasis on stats I'd tell them to go get good.

I could careless about stat padders. They don't effect my gameplay whatsoever. If each time you ranked up, you got more HP, less recoil, or could carry more ammo (etc, etc) then maybe I would care about stat padders. but since ranking up or getting badges has absolutely no effect to the way you play, then who cares? Stat padders don't have any advantage over you, except maybe they'd own you in a knife fight.

I nearly had the same score from a good ol' blackhawk rape back in the day when you could sit in the sky for the whole round and acctually see MEC players running away when they hear the blackhawk.

Mashtuur City all the way. Oh those were fun days, executing pylon turns and getting a chopper full of engineers and a spec ops throwing C4 out the back while your minigunners waste the MEC on the ground. That's easily a 200 point round right there.

And then they nerf it. But, them's the brakes I suppose.
