probably find that some models and designations were locked to only be able to fire semi auto
like the FN-FAL was originally selective fire (auto - semi), but the british designation the L1A1 SLR was limited to semi only
but i agree it is more likely that it'd be full auto, but its still possible that its semi onlyComment

Not really, according to wiki there is only one semi-auto variant of the G3, and that was used by the Danish Army.
There is no real-world reason why the G3 and M14 should be semi-automatic only. They (and most of the other assault rifles and SMG) are selective-fire in real lifeComment

In fact, if you take a look at the MP G3 model, doesn't look a lot like the standard G3 model as is,for example the one on SP. This one looks a lot like a G3/SG1, a sharpshooter variant, the one of counterstrike, for example.
So for me, Semiauto its logic, since it's a semiauto variant of the G3. :)

I begun to use the M14 more, and i'm getting used to its recoil more each day, deadly weapon, big punch and long range, and good accuracy.
I use it as a poor's man sniper rifle, it works marvels. :pComment

It has collapsible stock, so that rules out all the sharpshooter variants, including the Danish one which had wooden stock as far as I recallIn fact, if you take a look at the MP G3 model, doesn't look a lot like the standard G3 model as is,for example the one on SP. The semi automatic sniper variant is the PSG-1, but that is clearly not the gun we are seeing

I think they just were a bit sloppy on their research

Told you so
I wouldn't go that far. They did OK with balancing, and the game can be played as-is, in contrast to certain other games which kept fiddling with the weapons throughout the games lifetime.
But its not perfect.Comment

not perfect, but i've played a fair bit of BHD and the G3, in that was a beast, deadly power and full-auto capability,
though a good suggestion i read (cant remember who) was that they should have them as fully auto but with slow rates of fireComment

I agree 'bout the M14, it's the COD4 Baur(in semiauto), while i think the MP44 is the Baur in Full Auto(big recoil, that you have to master, but kick a** weapon)
The fact it's that this G3 has a retractable stock, yep, but it has a bipod too, so it's a G3/sg1 with retractable stock, not an issue at all, since it can be done perfectly, if u want. :)
Having different stocks, normal one, sniper/sharpshooter one, collapsible... like the family of stocks of the MP5, has quite a few options to choose :)Comment

Directed to those researching...
It's a video game, based of reality, and made for enjoyment.
If you're going to make a realism mod, go ahead. Don't just sit here and b*tch about this minor thing and that minor thing, modify it if it bothers you so much. If you're not even willing to do that, then support mod teams to do that.
Does everything you want have to be handed to you on a golden platter, or what? :shakeheadComment

So far the only one bitching in this thread seems to be Spik3d, which isn't exactly a new event
