That acid would sound something for the Special Forces for sure...

After all, they tend to have access to things what you wouldn't normally have...

When i spent a couple years in l.u.r.p. (a spec ops unit) its not that we got issued better stuff we just improvised for example, getting acid from a body shop to put of fences.

My unit started off trying to use brand spanking new wire cutters, but we quickly found out how exposed it left the breach team and how long it took to tarry next to the wire...

We quickly threw out the cutters and went to C4/Bangalore Torpedoes to make the breaching action as fast and effective as possible. However, no stealth can be had after making things go "BOOOMb!"

I strongly suspect that it is not an acid as you'd have friendly casualties with that. One stray bullet could cause an incident, let alone weather conditions.

It was most likely a chemical agent which only makes metal brittle.

I didn't mean that they have access to "better" equipment.

I said/meant that they have access to different kind of equipment than normal infantry does.

And that is mostly because of the missions/assigments SF gets...

Yes that is true, the main difference is SF becomes more created with their equipment, guerrilla tactics, if an infantry unit really wanted a certain item they could get it though.

L.R.R.P. actually, they renamed it and i was guessing the new name (i was in it in the 90's), now i think it maybe LURS but idk

Depends on the unit and the task in hand, if it was some sort of surveillance operation then they may have resources a normal squaddie wouldn't be able to get their hands on so easily.

If it was an operation where they had to go out and deny the enemy from carrying out tasks or to destroy the enemy then it would be more the case of improvisation.

But on-topic, im pretty sure the stuff exists, just not sure of what it is :).

well if you look at it on the fence you see it has a frost like color. could be liquid nitrogen because if in a container and compressed it will stay cold for a good amount of time and the temp will effect the metal but i don't know how much.

Well I looked all over google for it and couldn't find anything so went to a different call of duty 4 forum and found
