That`s just wrong. I`ve been playing on cracked servers for I don`t know how long and still do so. Chances of there being a hacker on a cracked server is just the same as on a legit one.
I especially like the Bagdad servers which have been there since god knows when (started playing there when CoD came out). The admins and people who play there are just awesome and top any legit servers` I`ve played on.

Your first mistake was playing on a cracked server. There's obviously going to be cheaters on that server. If they got an illegal copy of the game, you can damn sure bet they are cheaters too!

Since most of the players on a cracked server are playing with a cracked game, they've already broken the law and are more likely to cheat as well. There's no reason to play on a cracked server if you have a legit version of the game. If I understand it right, those with cracked games can only play on cracked servers?

That isnt true at all, many people in different countries i know play cracked servers because there are so few around that they dont want them showing up in the browser list so other people can use the slots.

Ok, maybe I'm confused. What does a cracked server offer that a regular server doesn't? Are cracked servers the only type servers that the criminals that have illegally obtained COD 4 can play in? Are the server files themselves cracked?

i personally am not sure but i believe from my friends who play on them that basically they are not illegal servers, but they are just not supported by IW. They come with PB, ranked etc but dont show up in the browser list, this to stop outsiders taking up all the good ping spaces for some of the smaller countries.

If they are using cracked files, then they are illegal. I assume that only those with cracked versions of the game can play on those servers since the files are different from the legal client files. If that's the case, then I stand by my original statement. If someone is going through the trouble of getting an illegal copy, then they are probably low enough to get hacks too.

I'm not quite sure what you mean about "outsiders taking up all the good ping spaces for some of the smaller countries"...

And with the other point, a country say Singapore only has 5 servers but 100 players, 5 servers is not nearly enough for all 100 people making it hard for Singaporeans to play on their own servers, let alone having outsiders from say Australia or nearer country's trying to also fill the spaces.

Singapore would then set up cracked servers and only give out the IP's over the net to trusted Singaporeans so that they can play without having to worry about space.

Cracked servers basically have CD key check disabled. And yes, the group that plays cracked server consists of both those who have "illegally obtained" (downloaded) the game, aswell as those who have bought theirs.

If Australians can play on servers in Singapore, surely the opposite must also be true?
So the Singaporeans would have their own servers blocked for foreigners while at the same time using foreign servers themselves. That is the good old "Having your cake and eat it too". Pretty soon their neighbours will notice this imbalance and start blocking their servers for foreign players, and its goodbye international community.

There must be a legit way of doing that without enabling warez users. Like IP blocking or setting a password.

i agree yea but then im not the one setting up the servers so i dont really know too much.

I have played on a few and if someone had not have told me it was hacked, i would never have even noticed.

All they`ve done is disable serial auth (don`t know how to spell the whole word ) but they`re still ranked and admined like any other server.
I got my first 35 on a cracked server.

Well, I'm no lawyer, but it would be my guess that messing with the files so it doesn't check for a CD key is probably illegal..

as far as making it so it doesn't show up in the server list, all you need is game-monitor.com and you can find the servers...

BTW, I can't remember - Did someone answer my question: Are ed servers the only type of server that someone with a ed copy of the game is able to play on?
