Dunno know what's more annoying; cheaters or n00bs crying "OMG HaXOr!!" when they get headshot...

The second one, because you can just leave the server or kick/get the person kicked if there's a cheater in it.

I like to spectate and watch the cheaters. There are some that are better than others. The hardest to catch are the ones who use chams, or a wallhack without aimbot.

The ones with aimbot are easy to spot, the snap between targets, never missing a shot. The funny thing is, when you say somethng they all say the same thing. Some like to stick around and play really really bad.

PB does its best to catch cheaters, but you're never going to have a cheater free game, though you can get near to it by running client side anti-cheat programs. However, it's difficult to establish a strong community that will all run the same anti-cheat client and play on so many servers.

I myself have run into four cheats my whole career so far, which is not many considering the amount of players I've played with. One had an aimbot that did not even work well for him, as I still aimed better (he was running an ACOG scope on an m21, so he'd often miss because of the sway... HAHA), and no one really cared. I made a fuss simply because he was cheating. Then I had two other guys, who'll I'll fail to mention because they "were" active in their communities, but they both were "serious" gamers and used some sort of wall hack (or that hack where you can see all enemy name tags). For them, they wanted everyone to think they were l33t. However, everyone knew, but no one talked about for fear of people labeling them a noob lol. I threw the accusation out there once, out of frustration (one of them just got finished prefire pwning me through walls five or six times in a row while I was stationary, switching up spots, with no UAV), and I was like, "Man, there's no way he's legit." While he was alive and everyone was speccing him, everyone's like, "Yeah I think so too." This was all the server admins as well. It was a frequented clan server, and no one wanted to be labeled a noob for calling teh h4x. :o

I used to love getting banned for "cheating" too. Made me feel like such a celebrity ;p. But, now it bugs me. I'm like, "spec me and watch me play or watch killcam." People don't like the idea that there are people out there better than them. Hell, I don't like that idea. But whatever ;p.

I am an adherent of the philosophy that being killed by a "hacker" or speccing them does not bring you any closer to uncovering the truth. People are angry and frustrated and want to blame their getting owned on l33t h4x. Unless you have solid, indisputable proof that they have chams or aimbots on (i.e. PB screens) don't accuse anyone, less you be proved wrong and labelled an idiot and ***** for the rest of your life.

Aimbots are pretty obvious. But when someone is using the enemy names hack or well hack, it's less obvious. But the thing is, this server I was on had killcam, and everyone thought he wasn't legit. I'm not quick to call hax. But when we called these guys out, we never saw from them again. If the glove fits...

If someone is suspect, they're suspect. When everyone thinks they're suspect, usually people are on to something. Not always, but usually.

I don't think the idiot comment was directed at you blank, just to the general gaming community.

I do think aimbots are pretty obvious too, but I would never call someone on it unless I was totally sure (i.e, not even a little bit pissed off that they had killed me a lot). I wouldn't post it out without proof, but I have called H4x over ventrilo in frustration plenty of times (mage knows). Sometimes in matches I have been over demo recs where I though some enemies were a little iffy, and they turned out clean.

People don't like the idea that there are people out there better than them. Hell, I don't like that idea.

I'm kinda suspicious of someone I know. He seems to always know where I am ... it's not like he knows me very well and can predict my behavior.

But, I've spectated him and can't find any reason to accuse him of anything other than being a better player. I am suspicious as to how he consistently knows I'm waiting around the corner from him. Then he kills me and THEN calls for a UAV.

I suppose he is just a really good player, but I just can't understand how he always fires first and always knows where I am -- even when I'm stealthed to the max with Dead Silence, UAV Jammer, silenced weapons and crouched...

I admit that I hate feeling 'lame' while he is playing and completely owning everyone on the server. In fact, the server frequently empties quickly because he seems to have the upperhand in most situations and people get frustrated playing against him.

Anything else I could do to help me understand that he is simply a very skilled player and not getting any 'help'?

I've seen a fair amount of Youtube vids and Kill Cams where it appears that recoil is almost non-existent for a lot of players. If I had to guess, if there are a growing number of hax out there, I'd say this is probably a popular one.

COD4 is a funny game...because the rifles are so accurate, even over a decent distance, it's easy to think people are cheating sometimes. Even though the Kill Cam isn't perfect (and actually a bit of a simulation), it does sometimes help you understand that YOU actually made a mistake, or someone just had a very good killing position on the map.

I find it's definitely harder to get a solid feeling if there's cheating going on or not...harder than on previous games/previous years, anyway. :|:

No recoil hack seems popular to me too, because it's so hard to find it. When i use my P90 and shoot someone in Bloc for one to building to another i also get called ''hax'' because they see the KillCam and there's no recoil on the P90 when you hold your mouse down a little bit while shooting, there's even less recoil when you have a Silencer equipped on it.

But when someone uses a LMG, preferably a M60, you can easily see if someone has a hack on because the M60 recoil is so friggin' big it isn't even funny. :p

But on a side note, I have yet to see a hacker, if you want to see some hardcore hacking prownage. GO to 24/7 Inf. Karkand on BF2.
