    AIX dying ?

I've been playing this awesome mod since a few months now. I've completely abandoned vanilla and PR, and I can't even appreciate FH2 with this mod :p

but now... wth ? no more servers ?
Each time I refresh my list , there's only one or two server with no more than 20 or 25 players ?
I just wanted to play but the most populated server had like 6 ppl...

    what's wrong?
There's a patch coming I hear ? Will this revive the mod ? It would be a shame if it dies

Hum... dark? There are 3 night maps I think, Wake, Dragon Moon and Urban Jungle, but the other, I can see normally... what do you mean by dark ?

          yes it is (mainly)

even after the last multiplayer server gets shut down, AIX will still be useful :)

yeah sorry to say, you must be. there's four maps with varying levels of night-time-ness(?!) about them (Archipelagos, Daqing Dawn, Dragon Valley Moon, Wake Twilight) but the rest should be easily visible. it might pay to test your monitor settings against a grey-scale chart, and make sure you're seeing the full range of shades. with a correctly set monitor even our darkest map, Dragon Valley Moon, should give you just enough light to see by without assistance.

(my vehicle of choice in DV-Moon is a Harrier. i've had one other player with a similar issue to yours, tell me the map is completely pitch black - in which case i would be bouncing off the ground every 2 seconds. i assure you i do not. on a correctly set monitor enemy soldiers are silhouetted but still quite visible, and the map is easily navigable in an aircraft)

edit: sorry Mayflower, we must have posted at the same time

I also love this mod and enjoy SP, but MP is where the action is. I wish more folks would install and fall in love with AIX, too.

I wouldn't count on it.... I do wish more people would play though. But as great as a mod as it is (because it was meant to be an SP mod) more people probably spend time playing Singleplayer because the bots are amazing and provide a fun gameplay experience that no other mods have. Besides, the new patch should be coming "soon" I hear...

The advantage I think AIX has, is that the bots are good. That means Co-Op games are good too...

I'd rather play with a few humans mixed-in vs just the bots. No matter how good the bots are, they don't think like a human.

true, but they don't TK you just to pinch your jet, either. i'll usually play SP with the enemy having a 2:1 numerical advantage, which means the bots' stupidity is counterbalanced somewhat.

if i play with humans, i find closed-circle or LAN co-op games are the best; everyone knows each other so the a-hole factor isn't an issue because no-one has anything to prove. bots fill up all the empty slots, and makes for a good fun game

                      Really ?
I didnt see any difference between AIX bots and vanilla bots... as far as I know they still walk straight toward you with a pistol or running after you with knife and paddles.

Hope the new "coming soon" patch will revive some new servers :)

and btw, Clivewil, siick plane in your sig, I would love to see it in action :P

That's exactly how AIX is meant to be played and that's why I love it so much! AIX is absolutely amazing. I wish that you could created ranked co-op servers but that'll never happen.

I love the LAN co-op games and that's basically what I'm talking about. I like to play with a mix of humans and bots... There are very few of these available, so I just play SP when my local AIX server (BandOfBrothers) is empty.

I love the Notar Littlebird helos on AIX Refinery! I can spend hours just flying that around.

Clivewell, is that a fictional WF-33 in your signature?! I love flying that in the LO:FC modifications.

not quite - this one actually exists, but only as a single prototype. it's a Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut (working designation S-37) and is sort of a cross between an Su-27 and an X-29. with AIX having no Russian team, i gave it to the Chinese instead.
