  • Did you change the name of your BF2.exe?

I've been getting a lot of MD5Tool kicks lately, and I'm almost sure it's due to my BF2.exe being renamed.

For those who don't know the reasoning for changing the name... a few tweak sites recommend the BF2.exe to be renamed to something else, claiming that improves performance.

    ... I know.

It doesn't improve performance. It's the nVidia/ATi presets for the game that get disabled.

I changed it because I get a lot of lag at the beginning of each new map.
                  It improved NOTHING.
In the end I reinstalled BF2 and then left the BF2.exe like it is.

Changed it. Didn't really make much difference, other than make patching and xFire more complicated.
