Yea a lot of things like jihad's and base/spawn raping are all legit in EA/DICE's eyes. They may be cheap but if server rules don't say you can't do it, it's all fine.

I'm not a member of this clan, nor have I seen them playing so I am not defending them. I am just throwing out some common sense facts.

I don't know about the hacks, but there are people that DO NOT BASE RAPE. I am one of them... and I AM NOT LYING. I just don't do it. Even if they do it to me, I will not do it to them... I might shoot a person or two while I'm trying to kill commander assets, or steal an enemy vehicle... but I never stick around longer then it takes me to do the job...

Ask people even, they will tell you I constantly COMPLAIN about people that DO base rape.... I think it's very cheap.... seriously what's the point? To cause the other team misery for your own pleasure? Well guess what? I've gotten more pleasure out of beating the piss out of a team by NOT LETTING THEM near any one of our flags rather then just waiting for them to spawn then kill them.

I LIKE them to gather themselves together and make a push, it's much more challanging... and more fun for both sides... I'd rather loose badly on a team that didn't get base raped then to win on a team that WAS base raping (mostly because I sit there and watch my team be stupid while I get to shoot nobody because they get killed as soon as they spawn)...

SO please, don't kid yourself, there are people out there with scrupulous.

P.S. the unlimited arty/command assets hack WAS A CONFIRMED hack that DICE even had hardcoded OUT in the last patch in an attempt to stop them from doing it anymore. Unsure if what they did worked, but in previous versions they DID have a hack that did that... and it worked. There have also been exploits to get the same thing to happen in the past as well... those are probably also not around anymore, but I'm not sure.

2: I have seen commanders who put up UAVs and yet don't drop Arty. How do they know the enemy team isn't playing as support? Those IDS have a fairly large range, and are easy to relocate.

You can't hack server files... I don't understand what part of this you are not understanding. Even if they used an FTP account to the server itself and edited the files (which, btw, is not possible. EA made sure of that) everyone connecting would get immediately kicked because their client files wouldn't match that of the server. Hacks are done using 3rd part programs that can manipulate things CLIENT side.

Well you can't hack server sided information, which includes that Walker Guns and the Firing through the walls.

Base Raping is a fully legit tactic, as said so by EA/DICE. (i don't like it, but it's legit).

And you can't tell whether the other team has any IDS' down or a commander spotting.

Why does everyone always try to excuse base raping by saying it's LEGIT? What does that suppose to mean exactly? Pretty much DICE doesn't care what we do unless it's an exploit of the game or some 3rd party hack.. otherwise ANYTHING goes... they aren't here to play babysitters for us. It's up to the server admins to decide if that kind of behavior is tolerated... but that doesn't make it any less cheap, even if they allow it.

Having seen pretty much every post about hacking, i know this is impossible.

All health related data is held server side, and thus cannot be hacked. If it was, then all clients connecting would have to have hacked files as well. Then, punkbuster would have to be turned off.

Likely cause is bad netcoding by EA/DICE which means that the hitboxes were well out.

Not sure about this, punkbuster has been fooled in ways before.... but I get what your saying. I'd agree with you that the clients cannot change anything server side... the server would have to do that....

it's true. i've lost count of how many times i've hit a walker with a rorshe and the hit doesn't register. Proper annoying!

More likely there is registation problems in BF2142..... like he just mentioned... rather then "health hacks"..... but then, I've seen things before I thought was impossible.... so you can never be 100% sure.

i've seen health hacks. they couldn't die. even a knife they just survived. they had 0 death and just shot trough wall( a team mate confirmed me he was shooting against a wall). they survived a whole clip of my baur point blank range. even a knife(i heard it was a registered one it makes another sound). and they could't die. so it is possible. it is possible they just real time hacked so they were modding the information in the memory of the server. then nothing can stop it. and if you say EA made it. do you ever think it would ever be bugfree?

Ok, first of all, KNIFE misregistrations are something that is common... it's the weapon that has that problem the MOST... trust me there have been times I've knifed somebody FOUR TIMES in a row, and three of them seemed to hit (made the hitting flesh noise) but only the fourth killed..... so yea, hit registeration can be a problem.

I for one try to listen to see who they are talking about, then look for myself... I just don't get why people GET MAD over this? If nobody is being banned or even kicked, just ACCUSED, then what's the problem? I only see a problem if somebody WRONGLY gets banned for not doing anything wrong.... but to CHECK it out? Seriously? @Baseraping: Then fine, don't do it. If its not against the server rules, its LEGIT. Show me some fine print that says its not. All is fair in love and war, the Geneva Convention doesn't apply to 2142. In Real Life there are morals, scruples and honor that you can hold do, however in a war game you can do whatever you want (thats within the server and EA rules)

@Server Side Hacking: Guess how EA decided to stop hacking the Orbital/EMP/Supply Crate! They made the timers server side as opposed to client side. Seen an unlimited Arty hack in 1.40 yet

Some good sense made here, though some un-believers who don't look into the possibility of hacks yet. And I haven't seen unlimited artillery but I've seen extended artillery where the artillery lasts twice as long as normal and does extra damage!

I agree with the posts about how many of these are not hacks. Its pretty simple to figure out what can and cant be done, when looking at the info presented in this thread.

I do think that most of the parties could have brought a better discussion to this thread, that is the whole reason these threads are here after all.
