v1.4 screwed this whole game up for me. not sure how many others are having this freezing for 5 seconds every 30 seconds, and connections being screwed up, but i'm done until the next patch comes out or this one gets hotfixed. guess it's SP Crysis time....

The game has never been better after the new patch, no more connection time out at all and the game runs as smooth as a smoothie. Maybe the error lies within your cabinet.

i'm not too sure what the problem is, all i do know is that the game ran GREAT before i installed v1.4 and now it runs like crap, well, crap is a harsh word....but it dosen't run like it did before. hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Seriously, have you tried manually updating PB? A lot of times when PB is trying to update in-game, it causes what you are describing. Also, have you defragged lately? Are you running out of memory, forcing the computer to use the page file?

1.4 Has made the game much better in my opinion, it used to either not connect to servers, or take a good 10+ tries. Now its instant every single time.

yes manually updated Pb and no haven't defragged and i have plenty of mem and i have no idea what forcing the comp to use the page file is, but thanks for your help. i'll defrag today

When you run out of physical memory, your computer starts using space on your hard drive like memory. This is slower than physical memory, as it has to do a lot of writing and reading on your harddrive, which can cause a "studder" like effect if you are playing a game at the time.

I have not noticed a decrease in performance or any studdering since updating. I'm sorry to hear that it is making the game unplayable... that can really suck when you're wanting to get your frag on...

I'd try the defrag, but also go to the IW forums for some help.

Im on Steam which doesnt help matters, but tbh, i have been getting constant connection interruptions since 1.2 so i cant blame the patch, im just annoyed i had to manually add all my servers before they showed up on the list.

all in all, 1.4 is a good patch, but not a great patch.
