They're patching more often and in small patches rather than large patches and less often. I think it was 402 that said that at IW's forum.

Changes

• "Winter Crash", a holiday version of Multiplayer map "Crash"
• Improvements to the server browser
• Fixed some rare bullet accuracy issues for all weapons.
• For server admins: fixed user ban list not working correctly on servers. Ban.txt will be created in the main or fs_game directory

Mod support:

• In the connect screen, Mods will be identified as"Mod: [mod name]"
• Only official IWD files will be read from the main directory. All custom IWD should be placed in a mod directory.
• Fix for reloading several times after connecting to a modded server
• Improved mod.ff support to allow adding game types.
• Fixed an issue with HTTP redirect downloads.
• "fs_game" will be forced to lower case

It's a 90mb DL... Don't install until you know the server you want to play on has been patched...

Winter crash? Is this another map thats a permanent fixture? I cant see our black guns or black suits mixing well with snow.

I got BF2 exactly a year and a half after it was released and it was only 1.21 or something like that so it was more than 3 months.

And wrong about 2142, it came out October 2006, and 1.4 was released Nov. 13th 2007.

But still, Infinity Ward would release smaller patches more often, fourzerotwo confirmed that.

Nothing on steam yet. This is the only game I have on steam, anyone know how much does it come late after the "normal version" updates? Or does it vary from dev to dev?
