well jordan, I dont want to bash you or your reasons for playing by any means. I just think that the overall point of a game is to entertain the player. Winning is important as well, but in my opinion that experiance should be fun for everybody.

I dont want a perk thats adds more, even after you are long gone and dead, its ******** for a supposedly realistic game.

The grenade meanwhile, is still active, so when somebody moves the body, the grenade falls, and kills the guy next to him.

This is what they're trying to do in MP. In case you notice all the perks are bassically based on SP, last stand, extra health, ect...
Of course the fact that the player may not have a nade left and may be holding his rifle instead of a nade does kinda make this perk uber-dumb. Also, not every soldier is that "brave". :)

I stick by my words that the goal is to win. Having fun is a feeling you generate by enjoying what you are doing. I've had fun losing before, but that's not the goal of a game no matter what you say.
A contest? No. It's entertainment. Sure, a team will win and a team will lose, but who really cares? As long as you have fun.

I think we all probably share the same viewpoint more than we might initially think. I do think it is important to have fun. However, that kind of thinking allows the use of exploits and anti-social behavior if you "slippery-slope" the argument. I do like to have fun and advocate that all who are playing should be enjoying themselves.

But I honestly do think that the point is to win. Is that the end-all, be-all? No, I'm really not advocating that to have a good game one must win. That's not what I mean at all.

Let's simplify a little. If we sat down for a friendly game of checkers, isn't the point to have the last checker still on the board? That is the goal of the game. It's not to have a great time while sliding the pieces around on the playing field. It is about making an effort to be victorious!

It's the "effort" part which is to me the heart of the issue. I say the goal is to win and the effort one puts towards that endeavor should be enjoyable.

I'm really not negating what you are saying. I suppose my paradigm is just a little different.

I hate the way IW have encouraged nade spamming with the stupid perks and challenges:

                  Martydom
                  x3 Frag
Kill 15 enemies with cooked grenades
                  Kill 30 enemies with martydom
Kill yourself and an enemy 15 times
Kill 10 enemies with the grenade launcher

                  Stupidity at its best.

I agree that CoD4 is more enjoyable to play without frags. But, the reality is that frags have been a part of warfare for a long time and an important part of the CoD series, too.

Perhaps a cool "Marksman's Mod" will come out which takes out the annoying bits and just lets us run around and shoot like we really want to

What's so wrong with the Martydom?? I use it all the time!! Does that make me a so called noob? Oh well...

The way I see it, if I'm going down, I'm taking YOU with me! If your not quick enough to get out of the way, that's you fault not mine.

It sounds like to me that all the people slatting the perks want to be wrapped up in cotton wool! I'm sure you all use the perks at hand, whether its the "Martydom" or "Steady Aim", they all give you an advantage one way or another.

How can you call someone a noob for using the Martydom, when you use other perks? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but at you all being hypercritical??

Do soldiers have to gain XP to rank up?

Do soldiers have to get a certain amount of kills before they can use a different sight?

Do soldiers have to gain XP so when they die, they can drop a live grenade?

The answers simple, NO! Its a game, get over it. If you don't like the perks, you can play on other servers that disable them. Or servers that have the old skool setting enabled.

Martydom is fine. I never use it. But I've learned to run from downed bodies. :)

The only bad thing is Friendly Fire servers. Pls. PLS, when you're on a FF server, please remove this perk!!!

I hate getting blown to bits by somebody who was in a foxhole with me and he gets sniped.

Nah. The point is to have fun. Winning doesn't matter.

Server owners can already do this. COD 4 is highly customizable and things that people tend to dislike, such as UAV, Airstrike, Martrdym (sp?) can all be removed if they wanted to.

What's wrong with it is that you magically have a nade, primed, when you die, as if it's strapped to your body and senses your death, then explodes.

If the perk only worked if you had a nade left, that would make more sense. It would make even MORE sense if you had to have it out when you died, but maybe that's pushing it a little too far. We should have some comprimise.

I like the idea of the martrydom perk not being available if you've tossed your nades.

The Nade damage needs to be lowered down. I swear, I run the farest I can from a nade and somehow I still get killed and they really need to show the nades on hardcore mode, so I don't die every 5.1 seconds out of the spawn.

Martyrdom isn't that bad, stay away from the guy you just killed and you can avoid it 85% of the time (still those unsuspecting nades laying around, but that could happen anyway)

The real problem I see is last stand.

I dig the perk, just not how it works, if I kille you, you should be as dead as someone without the perk, but you're not.

If I kill you, and you drop to the ground and pull out your gun, and someone else kills you, they get the points...not cool.

If I kill you, and you drop to the ground and pull out your gun and hit suicide, no one gets the points, not cool.

What should happen is, if you're using the last stand perk, your damage is dropped off the bat, so you have less health at the onset (easier to drop them to the ground) then, if you drop to the ground, and someone else kills you, we both get the points (or they get an assist, I get a kill) and suicide still gives points to the guy who dropped you.

                                Perk Fixed.
