planing to rent a server

well Im back to BF2 and since myis is offering some good deals on servers, I might actually rent one and see how it goes

is Texas a good location for a server?

I was planing to run 24\7 gulf of oman, I wish I could get something like the old Vagrant server, that server was a blast, what do you guys think?

Would anyone be interested? Im planing to run one map only, its either gona be 24\7 oman or 24\7 dalian, prolly oman

its probably gonna be called "BF2 Veterans V|" or something lol, wanna get some old players in there and maybe even get a clan goin, when I say old, I don't mean old people, I mean u guys would be welcome to lol but Id like to have a place where old school players can get together and play in peace, without retarded admins and stuff like that

I live in Georgia, so of course Texas is a good location .

That being said, I get about 40-50 ping from Atlanta to Dallas, so if you live anywhere relatively close to the southeast, that's a good spot. But, of course, it all depends on where you live.

texas is usually good for east and west coast people, but for the best east coast pings check Wash. DC, Virginia, Atlanta, and Chicago.

Ill only have a few, pretty much the same as vagrant server


-no arty on main at any time
-u can attack uncaps when u get all flags

those are the only two things that annoy me, I can deal with the rest

I (DarthTator) played on the Vagrant server alot too. I have replaced it with the =COP= Oman server. The rules are ...

-no arty on main ever
-no attacking main w/o all flags
-No stealing attack aircraft
-AND NO REDLINING ( no need anyways unless you do it for ego, there are usually good pilots and several capable gunners at most all times)
- and the general no asshattery ie-ftk's disrespecting etc


The =COP= guys are the best admins I have seen yet and the server really is a blast. Even if there are no COP guys in the server, there is almost always one using the console incase tards show up. Plus I get a better ping than I did on N2K's. I see alot of reg's from V on the server too. I have never seen them kick for possible hack unless they get someone for sure with a pb SS. By far, it's the best Oman server out there. The only thing is sometimes it's empty until later in the eve (EST). :salute:

In contrast I went on the rTr oman party server and it was a nub fest and got banned within 2 mins of my first time ever being on the server for supposedly blocking the Su 1/2way down the runway when the pilot wouldn't take off. I ran down the runway and got in the co-pilots seat only to get raped by an f35 and upon respawn I see DarthTator banned for blocking. Those fools are complete idiots! Esp after I went to their forum and saw 15 pages in the server ban section I realized the server wasn't worth my time anyways.. I esp like the banned because we watch player so &so and he pulled moves we can't so he's banned from all our servers.....lmao:shakehead

I wasn't trying to persuade you not too...just giving ya a heads up that there 's another Oman server on par with the old Vagrant days. They don't kick for soloing as Lupine does it alot, but only when the pop is low... They will ban someone for redlining, but that's not the same as soloing for you choppa ho's. They expect players to respect others and that's why the redline thing, there's quite a few of regs who are good with the TV. several are on par with how you were on the v server.
