Spotting

I'm not all too good about spotting. I generally only spot when I I don't get the kill as I'm normally sniper and have a pretty good chance of killing the guy. So, if I take a shot and the guy doesn't die, then I spot him out.

I try to spot whenever possible, particularly more so when a sniper. Though it does grate me when you have a clear view of enemy troops and they all come up as question marks. But it's funny when you do Q+click for spot way too fast and let off a shot instead....which randomly kills somebody.

I spot alot, usually, on INF karkands i spot fake boats - helis and i watch 30 people run there and stare at the sky lol

I spot all day. Usually my pilots don't realize what I'm doing though.

I spot everything that moves, and that I think moves. Also when I'm commader people tell me to shut up. :]

True true, I often get kicked for spotting too rapidly, apparently some servers don't endorse teamplay.

Even when you spot things out, it rarely appears. On some servers, if you continue to spot stuff out, repeatdly, if will kick you for spamming server. In the same reguard, you attempt to spot stuff out, it doesnt always appear.
Same thing with commander, being commander, and spotting things out.. Does not always show up on mini-map or commanders' map, after you spot it out repeatdly.

But the funniest thing to do is to "spot" pretend soldiers and watch half of your team move the that position.

You can't spot "pretend soldiers". If nothing is there, nothing will show up on anyone's mini-map.

Same thing with commander, being commander, and spotting things out.. Does not always show up on mini-map or commanders' map, after you spot it out repeatdly.

What many commanders don't realize is that they CANNOT spot an enemy after a scan UNTIL the red scan dot's disappear. So, do your scan (if available), decide where to place your UAV, wait for the red scan dots to disappear and then right click (Spot) at the location of dots outside the UAV sweep that are of concern. They'll show up every time.

You can't spot "pretend soldiers". If nothing is there, nothing will show up on anyone's mini-map.

You can spot manually by picking objects off the menu. I frequently see people calling "enemy boat spotted" (presumably by mistake) and a boat icon will sometimes show up even though there's really nothing there.

Man, I loved in in PR 0.5 where I got in an A-10, the cmdr. would spot enemies on roofs or spawncars, and I would pepper them
