Calling all G3 Fans!!

I hear good things about the m14 rifle, I've picked it up a couple of times and it seemed pretty good, just 3 levels and I have it.

i dunnooooo but I do know getting a hs is bs... cuz I get them all the time and it does not count as one... they really need to fix that.. I mean I have a better chance just spraying with a uzi and getting a hs rather then aiming for the head with a G3 or M16...

when completing the SMG challenges i found this but now i feel although its random and sometimes you get them aiming at peoples feet, if you do aim for the head and the KILL BULLET hits the head it will be classed as a headshot.

I registered here just to post my love for the G3.

When I first started playing there where a couple vets that would lurk around behind my team with G3s. After being killed by them several times I started hunting them. I was killed more than a few times. I then worked on getting the G3 silenced.

G3 retains much of it's power and accuracy with a silencer. Semi-auto with a silencer, for whatever reason, seems to make me extremely lethal in midrange fights. I do have cold spells though and end up switching back to the m4. Again, for what ever reason, once I rack up a few kills with the m4 I switch back to the g3 and I'm back in business.

It's obvious why semi-auto is more accurate than full auto but as far back as CS I've found I shoot best with silencers attached despite physics and game design.

I only use it on my HC file, G3 red dot with stopping power and deeper impact is a 1 hit kill in any situation, through most walls too, it feels a little like cheating but what ever, it sucks in close-mid range so i suppose that balances it.

Yes and no, I love the M16. Its my fav weapon of choice. But if I went toe to toe with someone who's got the G3 and who has good aim, then at distance I feel that I am at the disadvantage. IMO the guns are balanced making the M16 better in some situations and vice versa. I think the G3 is the only weapon bar the M4 I will use a Silencer. I like the M16 but now and again I will use the G3 to change it up, to me its not to different. But I do feel the M16 is a better gun close up and overall.

Though I really wished they had put in the FN FAL (rifle that G3 is based off of) It is probably one of my favorite rifles to fire.

The G3 is based on the spanish CETME, that H&K bought the rights, and modified [/geek mode off] :p
I agree that the G3 is a great weapon. It's not well suited for all situations... but on HC it owns. And it's very accurate, i had more headshots with the ironsights that with the attachments, and that helps when i got it silenced, until i got the red tiger and ended the AR challenges with it, a funny and deadly weapon.
HC layout i used:

G3/Silencer
Bandollier
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence

Silenced "sniper" from distance, and great fun to use.

i have only just started playing CoD4 on pc recently..and apart from the sniper rifles the G3 is by far my fav >.< i use it with silencer mostly.. haven't tried a scope on it yet (don't even know if i have unlocked on yet lol) but this thing is freeking incredibly accurate at long distances.. i have taken out heaps of people from across the map.
