Well i have a wide range of classes that due to the limited saves i have to switch around, its a great gun and pin point accurate although i have not used it in a long time because i was getting the SMG challenges.

G3 Assault:
G3 + Silencer
x3 Flash
Stopping Power
Deep Impact

G3 Stealth:
G3 + Silencer
Bandolier
UAV Jammer
Deadly Silendce
x1 Flash

I loved it in BF2 and was a complete Baur whore in BF2142 so this gun, despite the fire mode is my weapon of choice as an assault rifle, maybe other than the sexy G36C.

i think if you have an iron sight its worth getting used to it at the advantage of having the silencer.

So im still getting used to the iron sight, but tbh, its rare you need to shoot more than 2 shots with the G3 so it doesnt kick so much before the target is out of view, unlike the M14.

I love the G3 for its dead on accuracy. You can practically snipe with it. If they would put it in the sniper area of weapons, I would probably use it over the others.

I only really use it in HC mode. Where I use:

G3 w/ Silencer
Claymores
Double Tap
Steady Aim

Single shot accuracy when you need it, and scroll the mouse wheel for M16 like short bursts at close range. (I have mouse wheel up/down bound to fire in addition to left mouse.)

In non-HC games, I use it sparingly (mostly on Overgrown and Pipeline.)

Umm...why Double Tap on a gun that is single fire? You still have to click to fire the gun, so Double Tap is really useless.

If you have fire to your mouse wheels you can do perfectly without Double Tap too.

I've only really been using the G3 for a few days now, but it is a surprisingly good gun. Accurate, quiet, with plenty of punch. My HC setup:

G3 with Red Dot
Suppressed MP5
3x Stun
Overkill
Steady Aim

It's a bit of a goofy setup, but I'm finding ways to be successful with it. I run&gun and grab objectives with the MP5 and switch to the G3 when I establish a good firing position while defending an objective.

In fact... the G3 we have is more like an G3/SG1, a sharpshooter variant, very similar to this one, with bipod, etc. That's why it's semiauto only. A "true" G3 would be more like the BF2 one, full auto. That's why we can almost snipe with it... its very deadly... i like it. Today i've got the 75 kill challenge with it.
I use it as a "countersniper" weapon, it's useful also on that role.
My loadout is, as of now:
G3+red dot
Bandollier
Double tap
Deep impact
I dunno, the double tap does the semiauto fire faster? i thought the normal g3fired "slow", and with DT it fires a little faster, less lapse between shots.

Double Tab works with Auto Guns, not Semi-Auto.. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please

The G3 is so accurate im puzzled why people use the red dot scope with it. i preffer either silencer(for stealth) or nade launcher(to get me out of tight spots)
