On using the squigly line to enter a game thru the IP. we have some people who cannot get the it to open up to join. any ideas on why it wouldnt work?

By "squigly line", I'm assuming you mean the tilde key ( ~ ) to use the console.

You may need to include the port number, as well as the IP address to get it to work.

example:
x.x.x.x may not work
x.x.x.x:xxxxx should

yes, the tilde key.... but the problem is that when they press it (~), nothing happens. we have 3 ppl who cannot use it on their pc's for some reason.

Tell them to go to their options, then game options, and to enable console.
