Is It Me.. Or Does The AK Own?!? (AK Lovers Welcome Here)

I like the AK for hardcore where it's the only consistent 1 hit kill automatic rifle. M4 almost always takes 2, and G36C usually needs two, so AK it is.

It is somewhat underpowered though... literal power is fine, but perhaps it's a lil too inaccurate. Maybe give it an attachment other than an ACOG, seeing as it's pointless do due inaccuracy.

The AK was the first gun I unlocked everything for. I recently returned to it, and I've grown to like it again. I have noticed that the AK can be strangely inaccurate at range though, like TheDesert_Fox said. I was firing it semi auto with it by clicking quickly with the mouse, and I had the red dot right over the guy (who was pretty far away, in last stand) and I fired maybe 7 single shots before someone else finished him off. I'm not a crappy marksman, and he was still, so I don't think it was me. I still like it though.

i use the ak w/ silencer, bandolier, uav jammer and dead silence as my 'silent killer' set up ... works like a charm :)

why would you use silencer and UAV jammer they do the same thing ur just waste a perk slot..

this has already been discussed, uav jams the Uav, silenced weapons stop you from showing up as a blip on the screen. If you use a jammer and a loud gun, you will still show when you fire. If you want to be completely off the mini map you will need both.

Meh.. im kinda at a crossroads now.. ive been using a barret .50cal/p90 combo a bit.. works kinda well.. After reading this thread yesterday, I tried the AK out, I have to say...I really like it. It isn't the M4 but it isn't a bad weapon at all.

I don't mind it too much with a red-dot, but I'm not a big fan of the regular iron-sight on it. I find the recoil really distracting and hard to keep on-target with the regular sight. :|:

yeah but still..it is a waste to use both.. just pick one and play around it.. then you can pick another much better perk or the red dot, grip..

Really? I had the opposite reaction. With the Red Dot, anything more then one or two rounds would make the dot jump too much, but the iron sight was much more consistent in helping me keep on target.

The ACOG on the AK is completely useless. That would be a great place to give you a Grip option.

I for some reason dislike the AK in CoD4. I never use it in SP or MP. I normally like it pretty well, but it just doesn't feel right in CoD4.

it's alot more fun seeing the confusion people get when they're sneaked up on and either stabbed or shot in the head like an execution :evil:

but that set up works for my style tho, i agree for some it might be a waste but for what i want it fits perfectly, that's way we have 5 custom slots (not enough but better then nothing), another set up of mine is mp5 w/ red dot bandolier, jaggernaut and dead silence, for some reason i have a hard time adjusting to the aksu
