i did have a look on that site, but to get a game server it looks like you have to pay, the cheapest i could find was $150, nowhere near "free". I didn't see any options for hosting a server where you advertise for someone else for free either.

i just set up a dedicated server, but when i try to connect it says that i have a newer version than the server, but i have the latest bf2 patch, so it must be the server laucher that is too old, although i had just downloaded it.

How do i make sure that the dedicated server launcher is the same version as the latest bf2 patch? Does anyone have a link?

I don't think your connection will be fast enough to host a server of any decent size.

Nope it wont be, maybe a LAN..but nothing via the internet.

With those speeds, you'd be lucky to host a 3v3 on a 16 player map. As for hosting a LAN server as the person above me posted, that all depends on the switch(es) [10/100/1000 Base T(aka Gigabit) would be the best. They definitely are not cheap] used, and the system specs of the server.
