CoD2`s support was complete s*it to be honest, but I hope IW has learned from their mistakes.
CoD1 was a dream come true.

I played the other COD games and I don't remember having much bigger maps or much different in any way than the ones we have now in COD4. THIS IS COD, get used to it or move on... sorry, but dunno what else to tell you. Introducing the ranking system was BS imho, but as Sonic said, kids will hopefully move on and the good players will stay around.

As stated before, try hardcore servers, Headquorters, I preffer Search and Destroy in Hardcore mode, because most of the upcoming tournaments will be is SD.

I really like the map's they are well done it just to many server's try to put 32 people on some of the map's that are ment for 16 people.. I am really happy that the map sizes are not to big..
I agree I think the map sizes are just fine the way they are people are just playing on 50 and 32 man servers and thats way to many people for maps of this size.

I prefer 20 man servers, 28 at the most.

I think that bigger maps will be taken care of by the modding/mapping community once the tools come out.

And the ranking system is bogus...By the end of the year everyone is going to be Admiral of the Swiss Navy. Then what?

Sorry....But I'm bored...and this comes from an old gamer who grew up on Avalon Hill's Panzer Blitz, when it first came out some 35-36 years ago.

Not a rant just a critique. This could be a great game if it wants to be.

            Take care and good hunting.
OMG...Panzer Blitz...it's been a long time since I even heard that again.
            I had that...and Luftwaffe, too.
            *sigh*
I hear ya...the maps are small and the complete lack of teamwork is astounding.
            And I've wondered that too...what will happen when everyone's a R55?
As it is it seems half the players on any given server have at least one star already. I bought the game less than a week after it was released and there was already a lot of generals everywhere.
Must be nice to have that much free time to just game...
Ah, but for the days of no responsibilities again...

Play the game for fun. Anyone hear of that anymore? No one plays video games for fun nowadays because of all the "z0mg stats, ranks, unlocks!1!"

The ranking isn't the end-all-be-all. It seems like the intention of the devs was to have everyone at a high rank (if not maxed out) within a couple weeks of playing, even at a very moderate pace. It's fun to earn the various unlocks, but that's really more the "introduction" phase of the game.

Having just migrated from 2142 I would like a few larger maps to play on (and my defibulator, lol), but I'm quickly growing accustomed to COD's style of play. 16v16 Vacant is enough to make you pull the plug on your PC, but a nice 8v8 Crash or Overgrown game is a ton of fun. I haven't gotten into Hardcore yet...saving that for once I get some skill.

Anyway, my friends and I figure to play this game for at least a year. Some good modders could easily push us way beyond that.

                  He's right

                  Actually, you're both right....kinda.

Innovation is what we want. Although the storyline helps move the game along, the truth is COD4, like medal of honor, is just a: shoot all the bad guys till you get to the next level-kind of game. As for the multiplayer, I can't comment cause I've only played it once...so I will take the advice of playing with my Tournament.

As for comparison...It's frustrating for us old guys...when we've played thousands of games like this...don't get me wrong either...great game...worth the 50 bucks...however it's very LINEAR. If I wanted a shooting gallery...well I'd go to one.

Play with less than 32 people in a server if it's so bad. Try a ten man game (total, not per team). Join a clan and play with them. Try using voice chat with random people, maybe they'll work with you. I don't really feel like going on, but you get the idea.

Sorry for the little rant, but how the hell do you expect there to be any innovation in games if all you do is compare them to each other?

CoD was big before with its small maps and CS gameplay, and it will continue being big.
Just cause there are games out there with bigger maps and longer ranking doesn`t mean CoD4 is gonna get ditched. It will stay popular for times to come.

This game is meant for intense infantry fighting. If you wish to have large maps, either go to the BF series or make your own and submit them to competitive ladders and file sites (I.E, codfiles.com) for competitive and/or casual play.

Not everybody has so much time on their hands and ranking up may take them some time. If you're stuck at a single rank for a year, then the game is no fun, that's what BF2 was.
