Weapon attachments don't make sense

to bring up another good point, why would you need the ACOG scope in the first place for any of the weapons other then the sniper rifles?

Because the assault rifles in COD4 have a pretty good range, and the ACOG has more zoom than a red-dot/reflex sight, and is accurate once you correct for it (ie. allow a few fractions of a second for it to stabilize). With ACOG, you can kind of have the best of both worlds... crosshairs for spray/pray for close-in combat, and the scope for med-long range distance shots.

Just to clarify, silencers don't reduce the speed of bullets. Silencers silence the explosion inside the barrel that propels a bullet but they cannot silence the sonic boom created by a bullet travelling faster than the speed of sound outside the barrel. Most rifle rounds travel faster than the speed of sound therefore there are special subsonic rounds for use with silencers. It is the subsonic bullet selection that drastically reduces speed and power, not the silencer itself.

LOL, then why does the ammo still count as standard ammo and gets added to your weapon of you pick it up. As far as this game is concerned its the silencer that kills the power/speed.
