I'm getting COD 4 this Wednesday but not sure wht settings I would run it on

CPU: P4 3.06ghz
RAM: 2gig DDR2
GPU: 8600gt !gig memory Core clock 540mhz Mem Clock 500
and Plenty of HDD space

Why not just download the free PC single-player demo (Google it) and try it yourself?! :) The full game runs even a little bit better than the demo, IMO.

lol I did that ages ago when the demo came out but back then I was only running 1gig RAM and 7600gt so I did a little upgrade. I also now have a 20inch wide screen lol I will re download the demo now and have a go lol

Does COD 4 have Windowed Mode? if so how do you get it in the demo

I don't think I noticed a windowed mode..Either way I wouldn't recommend it =/ I hear it puts more stress on your videocard because theres more to render

nope absolutely not true :) less to render cause its a smaller resolution I have Crysis can't play it on High at 1650x1050 but on 1250x1025 I can play med high with a good frame rate

So windowed mode is very good

should be alright, except I'm not sure how the 8600's are compared to the other 8 series.

6150=no good upgrade your GFX and you'll be good to go.

how about ati 9550 agp 256 mb? i have this with on my old computer. this one is only directx 9.0. will it work or i have to get higher gfx?

I found this in less than 1 minute using Google:

CoD4 in windowed mode
To play in windowed mode, open the console and type:

/r_fullscreen 0

then

/vid_restart

You could've too.
