Thats not standard Beacon Surfing, thats "Cowabunga APC Pod Surfing". You can do it on any map with a titan or an APC, and its HORRID. You can't fly when someone is doing it, and that someone cannot be killed. This has been possible since day 1... I am a proud supporter of standard beacon surfing, but I HATE Cowabunga Pod Surfing.

This is how it looks when you are commanding and catch one

Standard beacon surfing sucks. Imagine if some guy put down a beacon in the PAC main base and now the PAC team can just go all the way the EU back base, pretty much breaking the map. Exaggerating a bit, but no one should be able to bypass chokepoints like that. The "waggle" to get on rooftops and move around 10m at the most however, rocks. :yay: Too bad DICE got rid of it in an horrid attempt to fix stuff....

I totally agree with that. It was ruining gibraltar for a while because the enemy was always in the back. Very annoying

If im about to bail out of a transport, i pull back to a near backflip, and then bail. the transport will flip and crash a good few hundred meters away, and its a distraction as well

hahah i usually do the opposite, nose down and pod out. nose down will make it fly forwards quite a fair bit, and it'll hit the ground first unless you're real close to the ground already.

on a side note, does switching to seat 5 and jumping out mean that you land using a parachute? i'd prefer slowly wafting down than this immovable-pod bs.

Thats more like what I did. Surfing 100+ Meters was never my style... I just liked it so I could remain in-bounds when podding, access rooftops and avoid beacon campers. It was also helpful because the enemy can't find your beacon as easily.

Exaggerating? Not really, I've done just that... (mind you I hated podsurfing, I did it to prove a point to somebody I was arguing with on the subject)... gone from the first flag cap all the way back to EU base just about on camp G.

Also, you guys realize that the TRANSPORT pods are the same as the APC pods? And where not effected by the pod surfing fix? They can be moved with normal means, no pod surfing necessary. I've never had a problem with bailing from a transport before or AFTER 1.4... just push to one side when you bail, like on your keyboard... and stop trying to "wiggle" to pod surf because it never did that to BEGIN with on the transport pods. Sheesh.

Stop posting that BS lie. The pods that weren't affected by the patch were the APC and TITAN pods. It's retarded to say we all pod surfed out of the transporter before 1.40 and don't realize we can move the pod with the WASD keys. The WASD keys do nothing when bailing in a transport pod, you pompous n00b

heheheh 1.4 is actually pretty funny after all. some enemy SL put a beacon on the border walls at Camp G and we didnt bother destroying it cos out of 8 spawns (i counted lol) only 1 person didn't fall out of the map =D

Yeah, i rolled the dice and podded on a beacon near the wall and of course landed out of bounds. lol
