those things you get at walmart are POS's

you'll just ahve to trace the wires down, no matter where the router is , if your connection goes thru it, then you gotta deal with it. the settings should be in the router controls, i havent had one in a long time & cant remember but i think there in the control panel.

    EDIT
american dad might know, but setting here thinking i think you enter in teh router ip in teh browser jsut like you do to get to the modem settings.....
Im a computer dummy.. i failed to comprehend that whole process.

who set it up for you? ya might have to ask them to take the router out just to see if you can connect.

very possibly your problem i never thought to ask if you were going thru a router.

right.... it seems your problems are either punkbuster, or your connection, or both. I never had a problem with punkbuster so I'll let the others advise you on that. If you've played bf2 before without problems that's probably the thing causing trouble. If we decide it's your internet setup that's at fault then read on...
You're in an unfortunate situation because you're not the 'administrator' of your connection and can't freely experiment with it, so you'll have to explain to whoever set up your internet that you want a modem router (it's just one box) instead of your modem AND' a router you currently have is that right?

yeah unplugg is what i meant, when you plug it in your wall direct (without the router) you'll either have to do this yourself or call comcast support & they can walk you thru it, either way i think just put the setup disk in from comcast & set it up with that doing the step by step instructions, wont take but a few minutes.:salute:

wow i fixed it ! lol
i felt so dumbfound when it worked lol
I just took the network cable connecting the router to my computer, and made it so it connected from my computer directly to the modem and saved it as a new private network.
                  sweet!
