europe only servers?

Hey fellas/ladies. I love the aix mod, it is what bf2 should have been, rocks my face off. My only problem is anytime I get on whether morning or evening (eastern standard time U.S) the only servers that are ever populated are european servers. My lowest ping while playing has been around 200? Is this normal? Are there servers out there that I haven't seen..maybe a different version? Anyone else have this problem?
