Multi is absolutely fantastic. If you cant kill anything then either A) Learn or B) Get out of CoD4. Simple.
multiplayer is horrible, single player is ok

Actually it's a site where ALL people can come to talk about ALL aspects of their game(s).The problem here is anyone who disagrees about the game often gets personally slammed and insulted. EVERYONE is entitled to their opinions, to slam the game(s), or to love the game and anything in bewtween. Many here seem to view their games through rose coloured glasses and ignore any faults in their game(s) or hate those that don't love the game. It has nothing to do with respect. Where respect breaks down is when someone disagrees with your opinion and is told to leave, sux, noob, I'm better than you so shutup, and the lamest, I serve so that makes my opinion better or whatever.

You have to think, use tactics, this isn't a Battlefield series game. You don't die from one or two hits, maybe you're playing hardcore mode, but in a 'hardcore off' server, you don't.Originally posted by confusedboy View PostIs it just me or does multiplayer just downright suck? The gameplay is very poorly designed. You die from 1 or 2 hits, which makes it a kind of game where stealth is important, but everytime you fire a shot, you appear on enemy minimap, and since there is wall-penetration, all the enemy has to do is fire in your direction and kill you thru the wall. Not only that but there's no general direction of a map, no chokepoints, and every room has at least 3 entrances into it (in addition to having every wall penetrable), so enemy can pop out or shoot from any 4 directions. I say 4 directions because they also spawn behind you, even if you're on your own side of the map, which makes it even more difficult to play. So when you're playing, you have to constantly spin your mouse in circles the whole time you're moving in any random direction just to stay alive.
People only shoot through the wall if they see your gun protruding into an opening (i.e. doorway). Either that or when somebody is in a corner and there is only one story. I rarely see people spraying the walls.
Unless you're playing team deathmatch or deathmatch, then there are choke points (excluding shipment). I can think of several off the top of my head. Play sabotage, there are respawns and I think it's very fun.
If there was only two ways into a room, it would be impossible to flank your enemy. Just say you're playing headquarters, if the radio was in a room with only two entrances, it would take forever to destroy it.
You only spawn near teammates, enemies spawn by enemies. It's how the spawns were constructed, in one of the interviews, I think with Todd Alderman, that's said.

^^^your wrong, go disagree with some see if you dont get raked. i for one dont give a crap who cares, i think the game sucks, and it wont last as long as bf2. and i play PR so 1to2 shots doesnt bother me, i like realistic.Originally posted by kr1kitOf course everyone is allowed to post their opinion, but it was the way he presented it. He presented his opinion in a cocky and bullheaded way, with no real insight.
why is it some gotta be a utter azzhole to him, even if he isnt as "sweet in his opinion" as some want. you cant expect a kid to post like an adult. idont even know his age.
want a real game go play PR, want arcade stick with cod4:salute:

Everyone has different tastes I guess. Not many, if any games have the amount of real world depth like CoD4 with penetrable objects, multiple routes and dots on the minimap.
I think, because were not IN the 3d environment to actually be able to hear exactly where a bullet is coming from, which you easily could IRL, the blip on the minimap makes up for that shortcoming.
The game is different, and that is good. Change is good. Some ppl just cant choke down change very well, hence almost 10 years of counterstrike. Same game. 2 engines. feh. I dont know how ppl could do it.

In RL, ppl don't bunnyhop and they try to apply teamwork. Other than that, yeah it's a pretty good war simulation.Originally posted by kr1kitWow... You need to open your mind game, go play ****er-strike or team fortress two if you want something with a front line direction and no wall shots. This game is realistic to modern combat, that's how it is in iraq, street to street close quarter combat in Iraq. And yes, you die from 1-2 bullets, im sorry that this isnt god mode where you can take 100 hits and walk.
Im sorry that this game is too realistic for you and your simple mind, when you come back with some better insight, we'd love to hear it.

I've only played a few hours of MP CoD4, but I find it to be quite good. The shooting is excellent, I find myself entertained and challenged by my opponents.
IMO the scripted SP missions are the best missions I've played yet in any FPS game. Top notch, high-quality theatrical presentations with great interactivity.
So, I'm not sure how you can't like it except that you haven't learned how to play it yet. It takes play time to adapt to the game mechanics and learn the maps. Give it a few more hours.

thats why were all different, were not all gonna like the same game, so why give somebody a load of crap because they dont like what they like? dont bother me if somebody says "pr sucks i dont like it" well alot dont, each his own, but i just get pissed all the bashing, some people like this , some like that, look at all those people on Warcraft, i wouldt install the game if it was free.......Originally posted by Pickerd View PostEveryone has different tastes I guess. The game is cool, i am currently rank 32 after 10 hours of play, but i would also like to see a real frontline, because now its makes it hard for snipers (for example) and also makes it that people don't use teamwork but just all go and shoot whatever they see.
BF2 was a game for a bigger audience (planes, helis, big maps, small maps, infatry battles)
One thing that is however way better is the ability to go into houses,
last thing: anyone else getting teh freaking anooying thing that your PC hickups for like 2-3 sec and it always happens just when u don't want it too. I find that, by far, the most annoying thing.
