Battlefield crashing

Everytime i go into fushe pass, wake Island, Golf of Oman and some other maps my game will crash within about 5-10mins. The screen may go black just before it crashes. For maps like Sharqi karkand jalabad and mashturr city the game will work fine.

I have all settings on low and 800x600 @ 70 hrz.

1 gig ram
think it might be grapthics card its geforce 6600 pci.

update drivers for starters..and make sure nothing else is running when your running the game. You also need to make sure DirectX is updated.

try 60hrz, it is the card not too mention the bus, and a boost in ram would help, try increasing your page file should help some.

well there was a update in November... just go here and use this to make sure your updated.

It's a memory/overheating issue. Check your page file settings, amongst other things.

Dust out your computer. The screen going black indicates a driver restart, or something similar.

I had that problem before with Radeon X700 and 512MBs of ram but I fixed it perfectly by reducing the amount of memory usage for BF2 (making it a low priority application). I could even play the game on medium settings. If a driver or Direct X update does not work, read Tip 4 of this guide:

Remember, if it makes it worse as a High Priority, switch it to low instead.:)

Well why does it only go bad for some maps? They use more grapthics or something?

Yeah, some mapps are more graphic intense, and large.
go to your process' crank up bf2 first , open the process' in task manager , find bf2 right lick on it.

if it were me i'd get me a new card, would make ur games alot nicer to play & easier.

extra gig of ram would help alot too.

put on low settings & take dynamic shadows & dynamic lighting & turn them off if it doesnt auto turn them off in low.

control panel/system/advance/performance/look for pagefile, if you dont know what to do, take a screenshot & post or type in here what it is set on.

far as the heat, monitor your temps.

Post your full system specs.

Scan your computer for adware, viruses, malware etc using, adaware se, Hijackthis, Spybot S&D, Avast Free.

Defrag your HDD.

Do any other games crash or is it just BF2?
