I am making this post here because I am unable to post in the PR forums. I registered for the site TWICE, and after 20+ minutes I have still not recieved the confirmation email.
First off I'd like to say that this mod is a great amount of fun. When it doesn't lag, which is most of the time, I actually have fun with BF2 again. I have a decent system, but even with 1GB RAM at times it seems like I'm watching a slide show. I'll try upgrading to 2GB when I can spare the cash for buying two new chips.
I would have to say that the game has equal amounts of negative and positive aspects. It's buggy, it's laggy, but it's better than the original game due to the realism level. As a former US Army soldier, I like to play realistic military sims like OFP and ArmA. This mod feels like BF2 has been blended with OFP, sort of combining the best of both worlds. The level of teamwork required is what BF2 was missing, and hopefully it will get better as this mod becomes more popular.
For those that haven't played it yet, here are some of the highlights of the GOOD aspects. The number one thing wrong with the vanilla version of the game was teamwork. People usually just ran off on their own and did their own thing. Didn't matter what orders the commander gave the squad or what your SL was asking, people just ran off and did what they wanted to do. Not anymore, people must join squads and actually help each other out and follow orders. Crewed vehicles actually require "crews" now. You don't have 20 snipers on a team running around. No more support or medic spammers trying to pad their stats. No more vehicle theft. And so far I have seen no hacks.
Now for some of the BAD aspects. This game lags baaaaaaad on my system much of the time, even when most other mods or high-end games lag little to none. I can understand the improvements with the mod take up some extra resources, but this is just crazy. Also, vehicles jump all over when people sometimes enter or exit, almost like it's on a trampoline. Grenade launchers thump rounds way too close, about maybe 1/4 of their actual range. An M203 for example has a maximum effective range of around 400m, the ones in game are barely hitting the 100m mark. If you don't want to boost the range, then change the optics to prevent friendly fire. Also, 40mm grenades DO NOT HAVE SMOKE TRAILS. That is one of the worst things I've seen in the mod, when a GL is killed because of a long smoke trail leading back to his position. Remove the smoke trail, real grenades to NOT have them. Trust me, I have fired enough 40mm to fill up a school bus or two. And with APC's, half of the time when I selected HEI-T, the rounds being fired still had no proximal burst effects, they acted just like Sabot. Is there a bug around that is not changing ammo types to match what is selected?
Overall my experience so far with this mod over the past couple days has been positive. There are a few bad points, but they aren't enough to make this mod bad. I don't think I've ever had this much fun with BF2. If the negatives mentioned above are ever removed, then this could just be one of the best games of the year. Some of the suggestions other than those listed above are to both teams and developers:
*To players, don't just grab an APC or armor and drive off. If your squad doesn't have enough people actively able to operate it, stay out of it. Trying to run a tank solo will only lead to a dead tank. This isn't normal BF2, you can't do both and survive.
*To servers, what is with the lame 1-round per map?? Run 2 rounds so each team has a chance at a different start point on the map. Setting the maps for 1 round each stinks, and to me makes for a bad server.
*Teamwork is vital. If you plan to join a squad, don't do it just to get a kit. When you join a squad, support your squad. If you can't do that, find a different game.
*Try using some realistic tactics and planning, or at least some common sense. For example, don't haul a$$ in a tank down a street in an enemy-controlled town before the roads have been cleared of mines. Otherwise you will only end up losing your armor assets. Think survival, not Need For Speed.
*Just because you can see them doesn't mean they can see you. If you are in a squad and you spot something bigger or more powerful than you, don't just shoot at it. Shooting a tank with your AK-47 only gives it the chance to wipe out your squad, who will surely not be happy with you when you are all spawning 1km away back at main camp. Spot it, mark it, and let someone take it out the right way.
I'll keep playing and seeing how this mod goes. I guess it's been out quite some time, yet there are only a few servers running it. And even then, barely half of the time do I get on a server where people are using good tactics and teamwork. It seems too many people who try this out are still wanting to play like the original version, aka BF2/CS. Good luck with the mod, and I hope someone in the developement team actually pays attention to posts like this.

Is it possible to have smoke on the Grenade Launcher in real life? =)
