IO only requires more teamwork to get the job done. If one person owns in IO but doesn't have a competent squad to keep him going, you will lose. It doesn't matter if the players he's against are average, they will eventually kill him and everyone else. They may die alot, but they also get revived alot more than he does.
The main thing with vehicles is if you die in a vehicle, it's an instant ticket reduction, in IO any decent squad can minimize ticket reduction with very little effort and abit of co-ordination.
However place that very skilled player in a jet, or more importantly a chopper and he will make it an easy victory. With a skilled chopper soloer or team, no armor will be able to support it's ground troops, no vehicle will be able to make a run for a flag. Their chopper will become almost in-effective, and every time it's shot down you lose tickets. Enemy troops at flags won't enter open ground, and will be stuck behind cover allowing the chopper teams ground troops to steal armor / spawn camp / come as more suitable jobs.
Who will win, the choppers team with medics, support etc or the other team all going AT to try and take out the chopper / armor that's been stolen.
The outcome in a vehicles server can be decided by 1 or 2 very skilled players, they are almost un-touchable in the air. In IO 2 very skilled players may own, but when it comes down to that last flag, skill doesn't allow you to survive claymores or noob tubes.

Somebody needs to learn to use AA. It may take a 2-3 tries, but eventually, you will shoot them down, even if they have a J10. Then, hope someone else gets in the plane. Same goes for tanks and the TOW. Hint:tracks

Yeah, my clan mate and I were thinking the exact same thing yesterday. We were looking all over for a Karkand server with vehicles. It's practically impossible to find one. I miss being able to drive across the water from train to gatehouse on the 32 size map. I'm so sick of MEC holding gatehouse on I/O while the USMC try to make it across only to be sniped. I miss the days of vehicles.Comment

Yet any skilled player wont put themselves in the position to be shot down by AA, only nubs do that. If a chopper is heading towards an area, all AA spots would already have been spam spotted (yes this doesn't in include mobile AA but that's easy enough to avoid anyway) and dealt with, with the jet, no spam spotting is needed.
Join a server with me and i 100% guarantee that you will not kill me in the AA, you learn where each AA site is, where AA mobiles can hide, and how to avoid them if you get caught.Comment

You're all twits for either limiting yourselves to one style of gameplay, or whining about BF2 not limiting itself to one style of gameplay.
Each style offers it's own different style of fun, and I personally am pissed that EA didn't add MORE styles of gameplay.
A little capture the flag, domination and king of the hill never hurt anyone.

I think the second they started nerffing all the tanks and jets and **** it turned the game to hell...
I don't feel on a "ranked" server you should be allowed to toggle the FF, I/O, Vehciles, camera modes, ect. If you want all that stuff customized you have no buisness playing on a ranked server. I think it would level the playing field a bit, and cut down on alot of the stat padding/ glitching.Comment

One person is not effective in static AA. But what happens when you have a dedicated squad sitting on every static AA on the map? Once i was the only Chinece player left on Wake. I was in the allmighty J10 and i can tell you that it was a hell to fly it coz USMC had ppl in every AA site trying to kill me. Eventually they got me coz AA sites overlap eachother, so when i attacked one of them, another was able to shoot me.Comment

That's different, they've already taken all the flags so every single person on the other team will be trying to kill you. If you have flags, ground troops tend to keep AA sites clear. And the enemy is more concerned with taking the flag, not killing you.
Wake is very open, you can hit AA sites from hundreds of meters away, pull up and deploy flares if needed, then you spend the time it takes to recharge scouting for choppers and other jets and then move in for bombing runs, you shouldn't die.
The only bad map is Dragon Valley, but if you're whoring in the air and taking out all the air targets, the enemy AA will have alot more targets to focus on so picking them off becomes easier.Comment

It's either regular game, which includes infantry and vehicles both, or it's infantry only. There is no such thing as vehicles only.Comment

Yes I do miss vehicles only and maps that change after 2 rounds to a different maps. All you get is 24/7 I/O maps nades, medics, support and snipers and no teamwork at all.
Good fun when arty in called in and the commander drop it on a load of them. Did I say that I hate been TK for jets and choppers apc, tank and jeeps even for my unlock weapon (get your own i did) and that EA went over board with letting dumb *** sites that were illegal get away with it hence why they did I/O only.Comment
