    Re: Avoiding Jet missiles

I agree, I'm not saying i can shoot down the "best" J-10 pilot. All i'm saying is you can sneak up on them. Obviously not "everybody" checks there rear that often.

I did it tonight. Had quite a few dogfights on Wake. I was in the F-35 and the guy in th J-10 probably got me more times than i did him. But i dodged his missles, good flare timing helps too, then managed to turn the chase around on him by flying in bomb mode and catching him that way.
Still trying to get the hang of leading the target with the MG, as getting a few good rounds in the wing always helps too

      Re: Avoiding Jet missiles

Okay listen up because this is a good one.

fly the f35 at a medium to high altitude like 400m. leave the throttle on about 75% (works great if you have a joystick with throttle). When you suspect a J10 is onto you, let off the gas and point your nose to the sky. When your speed reaches 0 or stops changing hit e. Then just fall with your jet for a sec and get back in.

It's a bit risky, but if used correctly it can save your аss.

fly in rear view and pop your flares when the missiles are on the way. 1/2 barrel role and dive for the ground; reverse loop. The dive will not save you but most pilots in pub servers suck and will crash into the ground or just lose you.

Vertical loops will lose most pilots and if you are in a J10 just start goin in a circle until the F35 breaks off or you catch up. Too many pilots try to get fancy and crash or make costly mistakes.

        F35 vs. J10
Don't use your missiles until you have chewed them up with your mg. Eventually you won't need your missiles anymore but they are a good crutch until you get better.

        F35 vs. Mig
Get missile lock from a distance but do not fire until they pop their flares. After you lock on again (from a distance) fire away. You will kill the mig 9 out of 10 times using this method.

        F35 vs. Bomber
Just shoot the damn thing. It is slow and fun to harass.

One more think, what are the hotkeys for rear view and cockpit so i don't have to constantly be hitting the C key?

f9 through f12 are the view hotkeys. If you can spare a few buttons you might wanna map some to your joystick.

edit: B¡tch аss know-it-all sig mouse.

i did a research... the mouse can turn a much tighter radius than the joystick.. so it is better for hit and run situations.. whilst the joystick is faster in continous movement. which makes it better for manoevrs... besides... just use what you have. it is not necessary to have a joystick you know..

Very useful actually. Map a key to the actions you won't need to do a lot, like reload and parachute, and that frees up several keys on the keyboard, for instance, mapping reload to MOUSE5 and then prone to R.

Hmmmm.... maybe I'll try out parachute and gas mask. The 8 and 9 keys really do inhibit my movement. I like prone and everything where it is. It's just a little hard to roll left. But I find it doesn't hinder my performance. Thanks for having me rethink it.
