GEE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A FUN GAME... sorry to be a killjoy but i hate when the teams are uneven... just ruins the game... especially when its impossible to move 2 meters without getting a 10 tonne bomb dropped on you and the opposition comes up with: "yawn... are you guys even trying?" etc. etc.

I love Wake, I have been on the wrong side of the rape MANY MANY times, but usually Im not the b!tch LOL there was a guy complaining tonight about us not takin the last flag and just racking up points........I said "you mean to tell me you never did it??" his reply was "yeah I guess your right, carry on" so we did LOL

I play Wake a lot too, and I wholeheartedly disagree with that ish. Keeping a team purposely pinned at one base and not going for the flag so you can rack up the kills is poor sportmanship in my opinion. That's not much better than people that statspad, it's the same end result.

Now that I think about it. I can honestly say that I've never taken a part of the single flag, sprawnrape that usually goes on in Wake Island 2007. The closest I've come, is the USMC TV-station on Sharqi; but they had at least two flags the entire round. :p

Maybe thats why I hate playing Wake. I'd rather have actual competition; than an easy mark for points.

Ive been on the receiving end of it many times, and I always enjoyed the challenge of getting out of that situation. I dont know how many times I joined a round that was already at the stage of PLA getting raped at their last flag and I spawned as PLA, and I was able to get out and cap a flag for my team and we come back to win. Just something about seeing players on the other team typing "I cant believe we lost that" So when I get the chance to get the rape on, ITS ON!! LOL
Another thing is, the people getting raped MUST like it, if they didnt then just hit that little X in the upper corner of the spawn screen and DONT respawn. If they dont respawn then the US will take the flag and the round will end.
When I get in that situation and after trying my hardest to get out and I still find myself getting raped hard, then I just DONT respawn. Its an easy answer. Only respawn if you think you got a chance to get out.
Dont cry about getting raped, because I have NEVER seen a helo pilot go land his chopper so his gunner cant shoot anyone because he felt bad about raping. If you get the opportunity, you will do it too. If you say you never did it, then you just never got the opportunity to yet.

I can honestly say that I don't rape uncaps to just get points. I feel that it's poor sportsmanship. I don't complain if I'm coping the raping, but I won't do it to someone else. That said, I will hit the boats leaving arty island, and I will attack the last flag. Not to get the points, but to give my team a chance to cap it. I find the game boring when it gets to that stage and just want to end it.

I refuse to single flag rape if I can help it, just like I refuse to rape the carrier even if the server's rules allow it. It's not sporting. As far as air units go, no, of course no one is going to land a chopper if their team is raping a flag, but they can't exactly go in there and cap the flag with a chopper either, can they? And you surely can't take a flag with a J10.

just to clarify, raping an uncap and raping the last capable flag imo is 2 TOTALLY different things, yes uncap rape is unsportsmanlike, but the enemys last flag.......especially after they were dumb enough to lose their other 4....lets just say they get what they deserved as they had their chance and blew it

They lose the flags because the f35 gets a lucky kill because a noob was in the j10 and the f35 camps the airfield for the rest of the map. Attacking the chinese airfield is unsportsmanlike and on top of that unskilled. I see nothing wrong with retaliating on the carrier. Plus it helps the team, the tanks and helicopter can pound out the ground without worrying about enemy air assets.

Whardie, do you know how many times Ive seen the last PLA flag to be capped was the airfield...........TONS of times, and the PLA got raped anyways even though they had 2 J10s in the air, so that throws your theory out the window

yeah I said no competition, so why do I do it? its been done to me and I never complained I just give it right back to them the next round

I don't think you're differentiating between "points raping", i.e. raping the last flag purely for points and not going after the flag, and a team getting raped in the process of a defending the flag. The former is BS and shouldn't happen, the latter happens all the time.

And yeah, I don't think there's much difference between raping the carrier when the USMC doesn't have a flag, and "points raping" a trapped PLA when they've only got one flag. The end result is still the same, you're raping them purely to boost your stats which is ghey and isn't sporting.

I think that's more of a fault with the map and BF2. I don't know of any other map besides Wake where two good J10 pilots can effectively win the game for the PLA without any help from their team. Part of that is a result of EA botching the design of the Phalynx; a badass weapon system in real life, but a joke in BF2. It wasn't meant to be like that, hence why most good Wake Island servers outlaw carrier raping.

I love playing Wake, I do, but it isn't the best designed map out there.
