serioiusly IMO i dont care for it at all, but im not saying its bad cause i dont like it, imjust saying for me I hate it. I tried the demo, i mean i suck bad enough at bf2, 2142 is just hard to kill peep, vehicles are easy to handle though, i like the game idea, taking silo's before you can get to the main one & destroy it, but i think its record says it all, bf2 is still on shelf at my walmart for 40bucks with the boosters, and 2142 is there for 29bucks.:salute:

you never know a war between the middle east, china and USA may break out in 2007...the year is not over yet and the EU will join the struggle later and the army will need to unlock weapons before they can use them =P

then we can hear people say: "ZoMG buustr P4kz 4 Battlefield 2, dey g0nna zpwns"

ive not heard anyone mention the 2142 booster pack (Northen Strike) im guessing it wasnt that successful oO lol not to mention the actual game =P

I'm almost always first or second on the server.

I bought 2142 way back when it came out and played for a month or two before quitting. I recently started back up again and just find that I get so frustrated with that game. It annoys the hell out of me how difficult it is to kill people with anything short of a headshot. I also hate how much the support guns suck; they're so inaccurate. I unloaded on a guy some 5 feet in front of me with the upgraded support gun for 7 seconds straight and he kills me in two shots with some assault rifle.

Anyhow, I know it's been out for a while but I just wanted to revisit how disgusted I am with 2142.

          Anyone else feel the same?
Are you serious? i hate 2142 for the opposite-its so easy to kill people in it. Its just about who sees who first then you just open fire. all the guns in 2142 seem like G36's...

I kicked *** on the 2142 demo, I was just able to prone (sometimes not), scope, and headshot people with the assualt rifle before anyone could do anything about it. Dunno why, but Im not nearly as good at BF2 as I am at 2142 yet I still prefer BF2. I guess I kinda dislike how the key element of battle in 2142 is always infantry while in BF2, it seems like there are more roles to fill on the battlefield. I must say I did enjoy fighting my way into the titan and exploding it though, too bad the grenades in the full version kinda ruin the fun of the corridor battles.

Could you ever picture the Arabs getting together and forming a superpower, with tanks and jets, and forming organized ranks and chain of command under a year or so time? They haven't been able to do it for thousands of years...

There's plenty not believable. Insurgents are armed with state of the art weapons and tanks, T80s beating American tanks, choppers taking stinger missiles without even flinching...ect.

BF2 is more of a cheap 80's action movie game-which I like-but it's funny when people think the story makes sense at all...

actually the Arabs used to dominate the ancient world ever since the sumerians in mesopotamia and for a very long time afterwards.

however you are right in that i dont think the middle east would unite and form a super power anytime soon, it does not look likely

Uh besides the Islamic empire there's never been an Arab empire. There was the Persians, but they weren't Arabs... and the Islamic empire took a lifetimes to build, not something that happens within a decade like in BF2

i love futuristic games, but hated bf2142, from the maps, to the weapons,i jsut didnt like it

i mean a weapon from 120 years from now, and it has the worse accuracy in the world, kicks like a *****, and takes 100 shots to kill someone.

that annoyed me, just the maps and howq laggy it was, it was a good game for few months, but bf2 is better

no, no you are right i agreed with you - i said i couldnt see them forming a united army that quick.

but i just meant that there WAS a large arab empire - the khalifate ruled for example in egypt and mesopotamia (modern day iraq) - correct about the persians not being arabs, thats a mistake usually made. Many an army was led by the Muslim force (arab in majority) the sarcens, sumerians, assyrians - all arabs.

besides the game has the MEC - Middle Eastern Coalition. The middle east now is islamic in majority if not totallity, so i dont think its right to use the term "arab" to describe them in-game, or RL for that matter as you urself have said persians are not arabs and they are in the middle east too ^^

Re: I Don't mean to start a flame war but...

2142 was a rushed game last year in anticipation of Quake Wars - of course that game was delayed until the end of the 06, then spring 07, then Summer 07, and now we finally get to play it in Fall of 2007 - and was only meant to steal some thunder away from it and was basically riding on the coattail of BF2.

Battlefield 2 was a massive success in terms of amount of players and general game play mechanics(I have yet to see other games use something as intuitive as the commo rose fucntion).

Take a look on the TOP 10 games played on Xfire. BF2 is usually in the top five.

BF2142 was nothing more than a skin re-texture with some added developer time to make the game less buggy during on-line play. Which is great, but not enough to pay full price for a futuristic setting.

In fact BF2 is so close to BF2142 that it's only one number off if you take into account what patch version we are on for BF2.

                        BF2.141 VS BF2142

So basically, one more patch is needed, and the game should be at its peak in terms of possible performance.

I lean towards being a realist while playing video games. The Battlefield 2 theme is not far from real, yet, it's far off from what is. If it was what is currently in Iraq, it would've possibly already died. The only video game that I've played that was not a 'realistic' war, would be Warzone 2100, that's also the only RTS that I think it worthwhile.

And as, I'm sure, others have said that it's a "mod" for Battlefield 2. I mainly didn't buy it due to its theme though.

i never knew there was an AK-101 actually till i played BF2, i wonder which is more effective in RL 101 or the famous 47 (i think AK 47 is more used as its cheap) but hmmm anyone know?

                                You, sir, are a moron.

There were dozens of middle eastern empires, "Arab" has nothing to do with anything.
