    Re: Ghost Flying

I wonder whether real fighter pilots break missile locks in such a fashion?

I wonder whether you're getting hot under the collar thinking about pilots. Ejecting is fine, getting back in is rediculous.

          yes ejection...

haha yeah getting back is rediculous i think...doesnt the cockpit glass (my friend is an aspiring RAF'er) said they place mini-explosives on the outside of the cockpit so that the glass shatters as you eject..incase it doesnt come open lol and you splatter against it when attempting to eject

imagine landing back in with NO chair and NO cockpit glass thing!

Well I've not had any first hand experience, but I've seen footage from airshows where things go wrong and the pilots bail, the first thing to fly off is the canopy, followed by the pilot strapped to the seat, no getting back in there. Ejecting is surely a last ditch manouver when you are going to die?

Maybe I'm looking into this too much and should really crack on with my work!

xD do ur work, whatever that is.

and that was a weird video lol but interesting nevertheless...

ejecting is quite dangerous apparently, it compresses ur spine or something (the RAF friend i have said thier dad (also in RAF, now retired) hurt his back when he ejected)

I've heard the same, something along the lines of, you can only eject twice in your career, then you run the risk of damaging your spine, so you cannot fly afterwards.

                Almost lunchtime...
