Re: Does BF2 Lack Something?
BF2 is a game, and for a game it does a damm fine job.
My only complaint is air power (jets mainly) is too powerful. Give me a fair number of potent AA guns and missiles, and this game would be about as good as it can get IMO.

Re: Does BF2 Lack Something?
Three things I would change:
1) No commandar scan of the battlefield. UAV is OK, but the scan is just freakin unrealistic.
2) Artillery would have to behave just like another gun. Someone would have to actually operate the gun, load it, aim it, and shoot it. Not the way it's in the game right now.
3) Gorund-to-Air missiles that lock, and stay locked, and destroy helis. Helis are by far the most overpowered weapon in the all game.Comment

RE: "Three things I would change"
#1 - IMO the scan is not all that unrealistic. We already got all kinds of satellites and UAV's and IR and night-vision, etc, etc........
#2 - Impossible to operate as you state. It would take half the players in the game to work the arty.......
#3 - Helis are OK. Yeah, they are powerful, but you can knock them down with machine guns fairly easily.Comment

Re: Does BF2 Lack Something?
speaking of knocking thing out with a michine gun...its surprisingyly easy to soot down the enemy UAV with a vehicle 50cal.
the scan needs to go because although we have scans in real life....they dont auto differenciate between friendlies, civlians and hostiles.Comment

Re: Does BF2 Lack Something?
you are right about the non-auto diff. However:
we have people monitoring the scans in "home base"/"MoD" or whatever its called so they act as effective "auto-diffrenciators" ie. we have people whose job is to monitor the scans and give feedback to commander =)Comment
