This is only a temporary fix, but it appears to be working perfectly. I hope this helps some folks out.

Just make a scheduled task to auto-delete it every so often.

Is it possible to create a .bat file to run a delete command when opening BF2?

You could create a *.bat file that deletes pbns.dat and then launches BF2:

          Code:
          Del "pb\pbns.dat"
          Start "Battlefield 2 Launcher" "BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
          Exit
Open notepad and paste the above command lines. Save your document to your BF2 directory (ex. EA GAMES\Battlefield 2) as a *.bat file (ex. BF2Launcher.bat). Create a shortcut to this file and place it on your desktop. Whenever you double-click it, it will delete the file and launch BF2. And you can also use the BF2 icon (for the shortcut), which can be found in the BF2.exe.

I'm told this has been fixed. If you guys could try getting into a server (first try) with the pbns.dat and tell me if it works, I'd appreciate it.
