Whats the point of even having it?I hardly ever post here,but lately i seen a dramatic increase in aimbots...And i mean,they are sooo obvious.Top left corner of screen looks like there is only 1 guy playing on the other team and he has ALL pistol kills.I was even banned from the ELITE XILE server for saying the word(hack).Punkbuster needs to just call it quits,cause they are only catching a EXTREMELY small amount of these cockroaches.And to be honest,I dont see the so-called BF2(PO-PO) AKA- ROE doing anything about it.Yea u might see an example posted every 2 months...I wont even dare go into Americas Army...Punkbuster is a total waste and EA should contract out to another company.

I say release the cheats to everyone. That way at least it will be even again, instead of the honest people getting killed all the time by the dishonest ones. That is the way of life, the meek will not inherit the earth, only the strong will. That is how it has been, and that is how it will always be. At least we can even the odds in the game world. I hear poeple talking all the time about base raping, saying well it is war. Britan didn't say to the germans, "Stop base raping us!" Well, your right, britan did not say that. But the Britons did not come back to life only to be killed again, over and over and over..........
Besides this is not real life, this is a game. And as a game it is supposed to be fun for all. Not just the base raping, aimbot using jerks who buy the cheats. Punkbuster sucks!Comment

I am all for base raping...The whole idea is to stop the enemy.So therefore baseraping is a good tactic.We arent gonna pull out of bahgdad cause terrorists are getting baseraped...<<joke but back on subject...Punkbuster is not a working program at all.How many people here who work,would keep there job if they performed like punkbuster or BFROE?Comment

What do you expect. This is what happens when game companies all use the same anti cheat and then these guys have to try to stop cheaters in 19 different games all at the same time. Its just plain stupid.
Valve has the right idea with anti-cheat. Theirs is far from perfect but at least they do it in house on the game engine that they created. It should be the standard to have the game developers themselves make the anti cheat program for the game engine that they develop. Not some third party thats trying to stop cheating in 19 different games at the same time.Comment

The developers create their own anti-cheat? Thats gotta be the worst idea i've ever heard, sure it may work with the better company's, but the low budget guys... they can't get their games straight, much less a cheat protection they have to constantly update.
A lot of people say PB is useless. I would like to see PB go down for a day, and watch the madness it creates.Comment

I am going to disagree with the "punkbuster = worthless" statement, because I think that statement is plain ignorant.
I am not going to claim there are no people cheating these days, but PB makes it a lot harder. I could write a hack for BF2 in about 2 hours, find the memory addresses and write a little tool which edits them on the fly. Though PB will definitely catch me. Which means I have to write some code that finds a way around PB, which is very difficult. If I manage to do that, I will have to change it every time PB updates. Because they update their scan ranges every time. Which means when I am late changing the PB workaround, I will be caught. And since the updates don't announce itself, it gets rather tricky.
Of course their are hacks out there which you can even buy these days, which will work most of the time. But seriously who is going to buy for it? And writing it yourself or downloading a free (possible keylogger, trojan included) one. It's not smart to take that risk to be honest.
Personally I would never hack since it would ruin my gameplay big time and I just enjoy the game way to much to ruin that gameplay. It's more a principality for me anyway, even if it was easy, I wouldn't bother to write a hack.
Without PunkBuster, there would be no risk whatsoever for anyone to write his own hack. Which would break this game.
PunkBuster is annoying, it makes me having to join a server twice each time, it runs as a service in my background even if I am not gaming and it's taking bandwith. But it does a good job, not perfect at all, but it does help a lot.Comment

It's like anything, it is only as good as the effort people put into it. The list of PB staff is very small so sending hacks to PB is the best people can do, once they have there hands on a hack they can write the checks for it.
Simply saying it is worthless achieves nothing.Comment
