The Type 85 is my second favorite stock SMG because it reloads the fastest out of the SMG's. All the SMG's are basically the same in BF2, except for minor differences (PP-19: 45 round mag, Type 85: fast reload, MP5: slow motion reload)

The PP-19 reloads only a fraction of a second longer - making the 'bonus' of the Type 85 a moot point. The PP-19 is better in every way. 45 shots in a magazine, an iron sight that doesn't suck, and a less erratic recoil. (It jumps up and to the left. The MP5 and the Type-85 garble around.)

Oh, and the PP-19 has a single shot mode. That fact alone makes it > the Type-85.

Why in hell would you want to use a gun that does 19 damage in single shot mode? That's less than a frickin pistol.

I find it hard to believe you even play this game.

it would be more accurate then the pistol if it had a single shot or burst fire mode which would make up for the 1 less damage done then the pistol just like the PP-19 does.

You choice can never be between pp-19 and type 85 because one of them is on the chinese maps and the other one is on the mec maps, nor you can duel somebody with pp19 if you have type 85 or vice versa.
You can compare the mp5 with type 85 , or mp5 with pp19 though, since you can play either one of them on a same map depending which army you play.

Your bias is causing you to make no sense.

You're basing your comparisons on what exactly? Your experiences with the other sub machine guns? Or the availability of said guns depending on the stage?

If was playing Songhua Stalemate and I was forced to choose between the MP5 and the Type-85. I'd choose the P-90.

It's as simple as that.

i never understood why it had no single shot......its the only base AT weapon with no single shot.

It's pretty bloody useless single shotting with that. Wish they'd take single shot off the PP-19, I die every bloody time because it somehow got stuck on single shot without me noticing.

Again thank you all of you masters of the obvious pointing out what's better. The point of this thread wasn't that Type 85 is better but that it is not that bad after all and deserves a chance when you play Chinese. And thanks for mentioning pp-19 again, next time when I play Chinese I'll try to select pp-19 over the Type 85, maybe it'll let me.

P-90???Dao-12??? the type 85 is probably the worst stock gun in the game at least the Mp-7 has single shot. the type-85 is only good on wake in more open maps its complete crap.

The Type 85 is a piece of sh*t. No man in their right mind would chose that gun. I have never played AT on PLA, until I unlocked my P90. I don't use the DAO, unless I'm playing CQB.

It's called a challenge. Just like some video games you can play on easy, medium or hard, and some people chose easy and some people chose hard. Are you saying that the people that chose hard are not in their right mind? It's just a game after all, who cares if you get killed more.

It's called a challenge. Just like some video games you can play on easy, medium or hard, and some people chose easy and some people chose hard. Are you saying that the people that chose hard are not in their right mind? It's just a game after all, who cares if you get killed more.

It would be challenging playing the game with a ping of 500 that does not mean it would be fun to try.
