He is extremely good. If you'll allow me to make a basket-ball analogy, the vast majority of you play on a casual level, a few will play high school, even fewer at a collegiate/NCAA caliber, and then we have the rare NBA pros.

Playing a 1v1 against him would be a waste of time for 99% of you. Hell, I'm included in that figure.

I'd rate Churra up on a college level.

So while still outclassed. I wouldn't say it'd be impossible for him to step up.

Even Michael Vick got sacked two times in a row by Oakland of all teams.

Steve Nash got elbowed in the face during the playoffs, and produced crap for two games being outshone by a first year rookie on the other team.

Even the best, can be beaten badly. So it's not wise to parade yourself around on a pedestal.

Look at Mike Tyson for example. See what he became?

Anyone is welcome in my chopper in a pub, even privates. I'll gun for a private, and I'm equally happily to fly for a private.

I've got a terrible chopper kdr compared to others of my skill level (1:1) and I don't care.

Nothing is better than the satisfaction of introducing a noob to the destructive power of the TVM as he tv's his first tank and almost wets himself on voip.

IMO it should be impossible to change seats in a chopper thats in flight.

I agree, people can be off their game once in a while. If you play Poker, you know everyone gets hot and cold streaks: the difference is, pros play more consistently and know how to make the best of their worst. They can be beaten if the skill difference isn't too great, but on average, don't count on it. :)

I'm at NCAA level, but I don't think my plateau is too far off from that. It's basically the same as in CS: I was cal-im before I decided it was no longer worthwhile to expend energy "getting better". I wasn't improving enough for the time I was putting in, and unless I would've dedicated myself to that almost exclusively, odds are I'd stay im.

Same with BF2. It's a fun game, but I have far too many interests to spend the necessary time to make the jump from NCAA to NBA: I'm happy with my current performance and I don't intend on going competitive anymore, so it's all good.

Could I've reached a "pro" level? Perhaps. But I love pubbing...

What's the policy these days on M95 use? Do people still get really butthurt when you eject them from your choppa choppa?

The problem people have is that they're self-conscious, so they typically stay at a gaming level that they know they can win at.

Civilization 4 is a game that is a perfect example. Often people refuse to increase the AI difficulty to another level, because they dislike playing through a game in which they have even a slight chance of losing.

I guess I'm the same way.

However, the only way you're ever going to get better, is by playing against better players.

I played the TWL 2v2 ladder and stayed at the top for a few weeks with 2 different teams: it was tough getting there, but we did it. :)

TWL was fun, but the whole thing gets boring after a while: I guess I lost most of my steam when I stopped playing the 3FL with my original clanmates in the FSSF. Those were really fun times...

The only thing that keeps me coming back is pubbing with other wh0res like pred, tiki, etc. Failing that, soloing is FOR THE WIN.

Oh, and I sucked balls at CIV4. I'd win either by launching first or just conquering everyone: for some reason, I could never win the UN votes.

Considering I spend almost twice as much time on Civ 4, than I do on BF2. I'd say that I'm progressively getting better with every game. I've worked my way up to Immortal difficulty with the BTS expansion. Sadly, BTS is horribly broken, so I don't know if winning on Immortal is based on my skill improving, or if it's based on the AI teching slower, and focusing more on military might. (Which the AI sucks at anyways.)

Multiplayer matches are too damned easy. People are more stupid than the AI, 98% of the time, so that isn't even worth talking about. The only difference is that they bring bigger stacks of catapults to make up for their shortcomings. (Civ 4 is about specializing city's, and utilizing terrain. These morons always ignore my units on the hills, and try to beeline for my city on the level terrain. Which usually ends in their stack getting wiped. The extra Catapults just turn into more XP for promotions and Great Generals.)

I'd love to try TWL, TGL, or CAL out for BF2. Unfortunately I have random hours. Some weeks I'm on the road traveling from city to city. So even if I did get into a clan that plays in the leagues regularly; I just wouldn't be a reliable member.

People don`t tend to swear and votekick that much anymore. Ejected like 8 people yesterday, didn`t even get voted.

I have Civ4 but I don`t like it that much, turn based games make my pen0r small. I`m more of a AoE3 guy.

LOL Sloi, you need to get back to the game instead creating posts like this in this forum. Though I did like most of the "SOLOING" pictures and will save a few.

I am a solid pilot, gunner, and soloer. All things being equal, I prefer to have 2 capable people in the chopper as this will always be more effective compared to 1 capable soloer.

Ultimately, I will always want a chopper that can get the job done for my team. If that means that it's a soloer, then so be it. As others have stated the chopper can make a difference in the game, but you're crazy to think it is THE difference in the game. One chopper can't make up for the rest of their team not playing the game well.

Teamwork is essentially about working together towards a comman goal (winning the game). IF a soloer can take out the enemy choppers, tanks, and apc then they are helping the team. I am all about team work (even in the chopper), but I also understand that the lone wolves (even soloers) if they play the game right, can help your team win the game.

Obviously, they can't be capping flags while keeping the armored ground and air units out of commission: with a chopper like that on your side, it should be easy for infantry to capture flags, since most of the threats are taken care of prior to becoming an impediment for the ground troops.

Only the helicopter can be that imposing. Hence the expression "a good crew or soloer wins the round for his team".

A good squad of infantry can do more damage than a solo chopper and almost as much as a crew with an average gunner. To say that "Only the helicopter can be that imposing." is definitely wrong.

A good squad is wiped out by the chopper in a matter of mere seconds. A good squad can only survive if its going toe to toe against a chopper crew in which case results are exchanged for low pts. This is the only way you can "beat" a chopper crew.

I have never seen an infantry squad take Oman map in less than 3 minutes. Ive seen choppers do that on almost regular basis. As a jet pilot and as an aspiring infantry grunt, I respect choppers as a fist of power the most. Kiddies with egos less though.
