Its my favorite support weapon to use when i'm on MEC,when i'm on USMC i'll use the M249 saw for its fast pace firing and its bullet capacity.

No support weapon beats the RPK-74...that's what you should be using when you're MEC.

and i hate the mg36 as well. i cant seem to hit anything at a distance with it, so i always go with rpk or pkm. the m249 is fun to use tho...i like to go rambo with it thjo its not a very good MG either

works perfect for me, i set to full auto and drag my aim up the body as i fire, gets em everytime

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I always use the RPK when avaliable and the PKM when it's not.

The SAW sucks and the MG36 is meh.

The RPK is more accurate than the MG36. Furthermore it only really takes 2 bullets to kill an enemy provided you burst it correctly. You can mow down entire squads with it. Even spraying the thing is more accurate than any other sub-machine gun. If you spray at close range almost all of them are guaranteed to hit (prone or crouched.)

Before they nerfed the PKM it would be 1st PKM, then 2nd RPK. Now its 1st RPK and whatever else works.

I would have to agree that the RPK is the best LMG in BF2. Playing Ghost Town, infantry :shivers:, it's very good.

i guess its the playing style that fits each person,me im a go ahead and get em kind of guy so a high rate of fire with good accuracy is great while reloading almost twice as fast as other guns is a huge bonus.

Agreed. Like most of the unlocks actually. For instance the L85 has a personality of it's own, sometimes full-auto will get you hosed even at close range, the trick is swift single shots and sometimes full auto. The accuracy that you gain from using the G36C, at least I've found, has helped all accuracy in general allowing headshots with the L85. Similiarly the MG36 has a rapid fire associated with the G36 weapons, but it lacks the punch of the PKM. I've proned and fired at the exact same time as PKMers, and they nob you every time. Burst is distracting as hell, I just use full-auto in bursts.

i think it sucks *** that bullets do hardly any damage.
seriously have any of you checked out the half life 2 mod (i think) insurgency? THAT's how the damage system should work. god that's an awesome game, and it's free :/ (obv. gotta have half life 2)

the mg36 is my favorite gun in the game. like many have said, it's what you're used to... i find it shocking that people can use the P90 successfully, kind of the same thing.
