It is extremely annoying, but mind you, me and a lot of people I know have had problems with BF2 since day one. There's always something going wrong for one of us when we play.
Just had my ticket updated over at Punkbuster.
"Please delete the PB folder from the game installation, then run PBSetup and let it check for updates. Make sure you don't run PBSetup from inside the PB folder."
First test and this seems to have done the trick for me.
