    It should be like this:
    Winning cmdr = 2x
    Winning team = 1.5x
Losing team = 1 or .5x depending on how harsh you want to be. I hate getting stuck on teams full of suck and while the other team wins like 200-0. Losing to have all your points taken away would probably discourage a lot of newbs.

Are you saying the winning team should get their points doubled, too?
If not, it'd take forever to gain any ranks that way.

They'd have to raise the points gained. Like for each kill maybe 4 points, or 6 points.

        Winning commander = 2x
        Winning team = 1.25x
        Losing team = .75x

That's the idea, it would force those who want points to actually try and win, rather than sit on a rooftop with the SVD, and go 12 and 14 with 0 team points, and asking for a supply crate drop every 2 minutes for more ammo.

i like those numbers. it means that you can still get gold on the losing team if ur really good and anyone on the losing team still gets some points. but it would be so much easier to get it if you are on the winning team that it would be worth your while to go around and cap a back flag rather than just sit at the front lines and shoot/revive.

I thought that was the only genius thing about BF2. If the rank system is so integral and I admit when a team has people working together, it really thrives as a game. Doubling the winning teams points is the biggest incentive anyone could have for working in a team, plus it's a lot more fun. Now I find it's only the commander, well that's silly, that's their bread and butter, a commander gets points for commanding so why does he deserve his points doubled anymore so than anyone else?

Nah, all of the rankings (such as medals, best squad etc.) should be done BEFORE any changes to points.

It's just an incentive to win, and definitely not to lose, which should hopefully discourage the players that have seen the MANY rambo films... 4 times over.

The fact of the matter is commanding is not that rewarding of a job. In terms of excitement, it's pretty low as compared to the actual fighting, most squads don't listen to you, if your team is losing guess who's the first to be blamed? Given all that, there's not much incentive to choose to be commander *EXCEPT* the possibility of getting that 2X winning bonus.

in pubbs the commander does not make a huge difference in winning if the score is 180-70 its not really the commander's fault. 60% of the people don't squad up, over 1/2 the squad leaders go and do their own thing, and you can only give them orders to move in a straight line you cant set up waypoints to show them holes in the enemy's defenses.

I command alot and its not that exciting and nothing annoys me more then a corporal who thinks its all my fault that we lost because I decided to defend a flag that no body else was defending.

Just tried it myself. Resigned killed a player reapplyed boom those 2 combat points were doubled in the end.

i disagree. the only stat i care about anymore is gold stars. most of the people who have been playing for a long time no longer care about points. to them, doubling points for winning is no incentive at all. if they care about any stats, its the medals from first, second, and third place. basically, besides having fun, the only incentive for us old-timers is to get golds. if winning doesnt help us get gold, we often dont do things to help the team. capping a back base costs a player a lot of points because they could be spending that time just sitting on the front lines tossing nades and reviving people. what im saying is, if you dont make the extra points of a win count toward gold medals, then you are not giving any incentive to play as a team to the best players in the game (the ones who have played the longest).

The only reason I said that, is that if there is a good, organised, teamplaying squad on the losing team, why should they have to lose out on a chance for medals?

I think that it would be cool if each player on the winning team wins some sort of currency. Then they can redeem them for unlocks n whatnot. That will give winners the good guns, so the losers have to fight for something, without making it unfair advantage for points.

not that bad of an idea but then they could not make unlocks progresivly harder to get. Without seeting one unlock way upthere. I think winnging SL's should get a 1.2X point increase and winning players get a 1.1X point increase to keep it from becoming to easy to get points.
