Kill Texts

I've been watching frag movies of snipers and such,
and whenever they have killed someone, it doesn't have the usual:
You killed Billybob123141512412
my question is, is there anyway to change that?

Yes you can change it.

A sticky at the top of this forum is all about modified localization files. Modifying the localization file allows you to pretty much change any text that is displayed in game (except player names and server messages and maybe a few other things I don't know about).

Ha, I remember seeing a video a long time ago where every time a guy would get a kill it would say "BOOM! Head shot!".

Just curious, why the hell so many people use this stuff? I means what's the point, you killed someone, it says so, why the hell you need to know +2 or -2 points you got or with what weapon you killed....I really don't see a point in having this.
