I don't know if it works, I will test it though. How does it work? how does ANYTHING work in bf2? or do you mean how do you actually do the maneuver?

Didnt you mean 1.2 and onwards?

My point was that MiG is astly superior to JSF in maneuverability, and back before these missiles, the jet was nigh invoulnerable to F35B, cannon fire included. This hasnt changed that much as the MiG can turn a dogfight around in a few seconds notice, while all the JSF can do is run to the heights.

Also, I think people are underestimating the importance of the F35s responsiveness and roll rate, I will often climb to 800 feet dodging the lock of a mig just by exploiting the slow turn rate he has, especially for a j10, a smart j10 or mig pilot will set themself up with enough distance that they dont have to adjust so much, so yeah, I guess you could say that for every measure that there is a counter measure.
JSF responsieness and roll rate give it the only advantage in a close range dogfight. As a countermeasure, MiG pilot only has to power down slightly.

The biggest thing I can say, is two equal pilot up in the air doesnt happen alot, but when it does that's when I find things to get fun. Mig and F35 are two very different fighters. If you fly a mig like a F35 youll die .... fast, and vice versa. F35 is a hit and run fighter, Mig is great at prolonged engagements... while offensive, not defensive.
My experience has shown that MiG and J10 are both the type of jets where you can fly it any way you want it. There are only a few limiting rules that should apply to the MiG, two of them being- stay below 350-400 and rely on loops at that altitude. With J10, theres hardly anything you can do wrong. If youll fly the F35B like a MiG, you will get killed certainly. If you fly the MiG like a F35B you will most likely to succeed. I mean, your F35B flight technique relies on "hit and run", that gives ANY pilot an extra chance of success, regardless of the jet.

My strategy for F35B involves my lust for blood, stubborness and some skill to back up prolongued fights. Basically, I just follow the fckers around until I see I cant win and THEN break off. Make them disengage first, or chance evasion techniques, where I move in for the strike, you rarely see me spam missiles. Thats just to show there is a different set of philosophy in air.

If your in a mig you want to use missles, trying to gun a F35 that exploits his responsiveness and roll rate can be difficult at close gun range.
Its rather easy, really. MiG has a 1 second lock timer with a 30 degree lock angle. If the F35B is in that lock area for 1.01 seconds, its a quaranteed one missile hit. You can rely only on scissors when you do NOT go for a 100% throttle speed with afterburners applied. You will speed up and make your turns less sharp and eentually the MiG will be in your flightpath. Its 80% throttle with afterburner tip in rolls only, and even then the MiG can slow down a little.

PING, PING, PING. If you are flying with a ping of 20 and your enemy is flying with a ping of 60, guess whos going to turn a little sharper, do a little more dammage with guns, and have more accurate missles? the guy with a lower ping has a slight advantage, that being said, try no to fly on servers where you have higher than a 60 or 70 ping if you can help it.
Ping mattersh!tloads. But if ping wont cater to you, you need a change in style. I play with 150, so I dropped the cannon-missile surprise a long time ago as my 1st and most basic move. I rarely get surprised myself as I use flyby and rear view checks on a constant basis. Easily up to the point where it is annoying if I havent checked my rear every second.

I like to ambush people with guns, getting a dammage certainty and missles are my plan B so My prefered jet out the two is the F35, also I've mastered getting to 800 feet, holding 800 feet and rocketing around the screen till the tone stops. So, to put this myth to rest, the F35 is not defensless, in fact, it is the only jet with a 100 percent guarantee for missles not to hit. the problem lies in how people fly it. if you like to cruise below 200 feet and not look over your shoulder at least every 5 seconds, your toast. I fly almost always over 200 feet just so I am that much closer to my strato run height of 800 feet, also ground aa has less time to lock onto you, I look behind me when I fly before and after I attack a ground target, rearm/repair, and also at least every 3 to 5 seconds.
Stratoruns arent 100% foolproof. Fire through flares. Spot, move and anticipate or cut the course. Pilots who want you dead will find an open moment where youre not cruising at maximum speed on top. Even then, you can always break full burners and release the missiles at your own stratorun.

The F35 is very able, and powerfull, in a specific role of hit and run tactics, the mig is average in all areas making very versatile, verstatile vs. hit and run is how I think it should be seen. IMHO
But in the terms of BF2, versatile wins over hit/run. Because hit/run can always be rendered useless by pilots who check their rear. Theres a defense of every offense that F35B has. And with a sh!tload of firepower to do more. When it comes to F35Bs defense, firing missiles at maximum top speed during a stratorun has brought me plenty of success.

Anyone who has said that F35B>MiG has really just not flown against a pilot they can consider to be equally good or better.

If we were to say that was the joystick, with the stick in the middle, doing a "full rudder with a 10% pull on pitch and a mild roll" would basically mean something like this?

Yeah basically but you have to apply roll, and you have to roll the right way... as in the way that will dodge the missle. You need to just practice it.. I haven't really tried much since I never really fly migs but it would be good to know.

wait roll away for the missile? I dont really get it... if your doing a clockwise turn and the missiles behind you, do u do the roll right or left? Rudder with the turn or against it??

Roll to the direction where the mig will be doing an inverted loop/roll.

I don't know it's too hard to explain.

OK let me try and rephrase my question. Say if your in a turn, we'll call it (turn meaning full pitch + rudder). A missile is right behind you, about to hit you. Do you do the mild pitch + roll against the direction your already going? Or do you just loosen up the turn?

Yeah and my point is I can't do it 100% like argameno so I can't really answer the question.. but yeah... do the weird barrel roll thing (I think you do it about as slow as it would take you to do 1 full barrel roll in 1 second, and pitch back or forwards just a little.

I usually keep pushing down and keep the roll. I apply the yaw "rudder" movement right when the missle is about to hit. Due to the way the mig's hitbox was designed you want to have the missles track into this area:

This is because of the rest of the mig's hitbox:

Needless to say if you have good angle then you can dodge the missle any which way.

I see, so you have to work around the missile, and make the missile hit at the last second where there arent any hitboxes.

I figured how to do it in the bf2 editor, its no wonder the su30 is so hard to shoot down:

Yes pretty much. The Su30 is almost invincible to missle fire due to its hitbox. To gun it down you pretty much need to catch it when its pulling up or down.
