^ Neat config. I tried a similar one to that (E/S/D/F) but it threw me off even worse than buying a new mouse. Guess it'll take time to get used to.
The best guide for controls.con trickery I've seen so far is here: http://www.forumplanet.com/planetbat...20&tid=1671636
By changing the usual 0 to 10000, you can add a single shot fire button (works with full auto mode), for instance, this binds it to the scroll wheel:
ControlMap.addButtonToTriggerMapping c_PIFire IDFMouse IDButton_2 10000 1Comment

The reason is I use it because most time all your secondary buttons for your various options are all to the right of your keyboard hand, and very few are to the left. Therefor the more controls a game has/requires, the more button you keep putting on the right of you hand. It gets to the point where you keys are 2-3 keys over from your right, which isn't just good enough in regards to response times.Comment

Re: Keyboard configuration ? What have you done on yours.
all default. one thing i learned is that u can get use to jut about anything. i thought id hate using the Q-comm menu but now im use to it. i did tho bind primary shoot key to ALT to help make shooting moving targets easier with the sniper rifleComment

Default except for one button, the 3d map.
i minimize bf2 a lot, so having it set to left alt really turns it off when i don't want to. I switched it to \, but it still seems to shut off by itself some times

Re: Keyboard configuration ? What have you done on yours.
I just got insta soloing fixed up
Just aim at the target and right click and I'm in the TV screen, middle mouse to go back to pilot position. You can switch almost as fast with F1 and F2 but this is just superbly convenient.
As for parachute, I'd say it's best to open up Controls.con and bind it to the same key as prone (make the file read only after). That way, if it doesn't open (too low, for instance) you land prone and lose less health (an instant bunnyhop on landing means you lose zero health).Comment

Seriously consider a Nostromo N52... I have one and have mapped several loadouts for different games and I would be lost without it now... plus the added benefit of aching wrist... try this link:
You will not be disappointed

Re: Keyboard configuration ? What have you done on yours.
Open up Controls.con, in the LandPlayer section, copy and paste a mouse button binding then replace the action of the bind from c_pi/c_giwhatever to c_piPositionSelect1, then bind to whatever mouse button you want (or key, if you prefer). I think TV sensitivity and other stuff is handled in this section.
Then in the helicopter section, bind "C_PiPositionSelect2" to the right mouse button (if you play mods which tend to have an alt fire on helis, it's best to bind a seperate key for standard alt fire or bind the insta-switch to a different key, I did the first). You have to make the file read only.
Very simple change, I guess.Comment
