The key to survival in a chopper is situational awareness. There are very few pilots that know what they are doing, trust me on that.

But those who DO know and have a good gunner will make your life really miserable if you try to defy them in anything that doesn't fly.

I really can't remember the last time me and my regular pilot got killed by infantry, armor or even jeeps. You know those tracers are really easy to see and you are toast the instant we see them.

Im practicing with the AT kit and im trying to get good at hitting moving choppers, it only takes one hit to get them to run and once they do your team can spawn and get the heck outa there before it comes back.
Or ill come in with a hmv from a totaly different area and distract it.

you need to fly the chopper like a jet... fly-by all the time.

Remember one thing: There is no escape from the MI-28 spam cannon.

When I have a chopper strafing my last spawn, I'll try to down it with AT, but after 4 or 5 deaths it just becomes pointless, or I'll just use the time to find another squad to join so I can spawn on the leader who is somewhere useful.

When I'm starafing the flag I usually don't leave until that flag has been well and truly pounded into submission. While I'm doing so I'm looking for other choppers (if any) or thinking about the next flag to rape. All in a days work as a chopper hoe. :)

First sentence says it all. Whether it's a game or for real. You hit the nail on the head.

I think the chopper problem is blown out of proportion. There is only one chopper, and 30 players. Not to mention that you can easily avoid it.

Yes I have, many times. Unless I get killed but the rockets in the first pass he makes over me, there won't be much left from the chopper. I like to drive my jeeps/ tanks alone, because if somebody is driving me and I'm shooting, I know I won't hit anything, but it's practically imposible to miss with a stationaly 50 cal, I don't care how good the pilot is.

Then I urge you to join a server where I am gunning with a good pilot, and see how your theory works.

Yes, it is hard to miss the chopper with a .50cal, but that is not relevant. The good pilots are not the ones who can evade .50cal, but those who can quickly detect the threat and eliminate it.

Seriously, unless you are ambushing choppers going to back repairs, a good crew will kill you 99% of the times.

Individual infantry will find it impossible to take down choppers, and a squad will have much trouble in eliminating an experienced chopper crew. Yet with a little coordination and some vehicles, it can be done.

Where would be the best place to practise with helos? I mean to be a better pilot, in singleplayer or on servers with few people or where is the best training ground?

I just learned how to fly on local servers (empty) and gunning/shooting on ranked servers.

I would just like to take a squad full of support SAWs and see what we could do to a chopper :).

Singleplayer until you stop crashing into trees, then 32 player or less Wake/Dalian/Daqing servers.

Yeah, saying pro is like saying very good, thats all. But first of all, I don't spray. I can "bend the stream" to still be accurate when the pilot is in a slide; there's a certain amount of skill there. A good gunner will know exactly what I am talking about. I do agree with you on one thing, the pilot should get the credit. Which is why when a helo team kills someone, there is actually 3 points awarded. The pilot gets a driver ability (team) point, and the gunner gets 2 points for the kill. If it were up to me, it would be the other way around. Another thing a good gunner knows, what a good pilot is. There is nothing more appreciated than a good pilot. There are some really good ones out there ...wish there were more.
